I have some buddies who have kinda became the stereotype of the helicopter parent and are having the problem that their kids are glued to screens because that is probably the only place where they have any autonomy. Kids need to be outside and learning how to entertain themselves without having instant gratification or everything spelled out for them.

Sure there is. It's just a dynamic of communication has changed so much. Actually the sport is a good example of that as we have lengthy conversations on a daily basis with people we have never seen face to face.

And how that affect childhood development? Who knows. Positive? Negative? The other one only different?
