jbluhm86 Posted January 16, 2019 Report Share Posted January 16, 2019 Nothing to do with Trump, but still pretty funny: Business Insider: McDonald's lost a 'David versus Goliath' trademark battle over Big Macs to a small Irish rival called Supermac's McDonald's has been stripped of its exclusive right to the "Big Mac" trademark in Europe. It lost it after a challenge from a small Irish rival called Supermac's. The conflict began when McDonald's asked European Union (EU) officials to prevent Supermac's opening outside of Ireland. Supermac's doesn't sell a "Big Mac," but McDonald's said their name sounds too much like the iconic burger, and would give them an unfair advantage. The EU Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) threw out McDonald's argument, and said Supermac is free to expand. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
