THE BROWNS BOARD

Uncharted Territory

As a Browns fan, I must admit, this feels strange.

Every year since 2007(flukish year) , games in December have ZERO meaning other than what top 10 pick will we acquire.

Now, there is a bright future. We have an undeniable energy and chemistry. A locker room who believes in each other. Guys like Breshad Perriman coming off the street and making the most of a second chance.

That same energy is apparent on this board, where members are no longer stuck in the pit of misery that comes with being a Browns fan.

Personally, I must say it feels AMAZING being able to have a level of trust and confidence in the guys in charge of running the offense.

My dog doesn’t have to see me rage🤬😡 at some the playcalls anymore, leaving her spot in the couch because of how frustrated I would get.

We could ALL get used to this winning thing that we’ve been experiencing lately.

Well....its not uncharted for me.  Not really.  From the year I was born until I was 37 years old, the Browns were in the playoffs over half of those years...19 out of the  37.

It was expected more or less that the Browns would make the playoffs.

But, I will turn 67 in January....and the Browns have only been in the playoffs twice in the last 30 years:   1994 and 2002..

FUCK Art Modell for causing this shit.

(and yes, it is he I blame mostly....though Randy Lerner and Jimmy Haslam can join in on the fuck you train)

(of course, the Browns also made the playoffs six consecutive years before I was born:

Browns have a shot at wimning out. Denver is easily winnable next week

Winnable? Sure. Easily, not so much. I'm not going to look up the Browns record in Denver, I'll leave that to Gipper. But I know it's terrible.

Iam very happy to see my all time favorite team winning again. Its been a long drout when it comes to winning. We lost a few that shouldn't have cost us the game, and the tie is only a smile that we could of won that one also. Three games left, and we could get a 8 game winning year. But its a start.

5-23..surprise.we have won more games in Denver than the Land..Last win 1990  https://www.footballdb.com/teams/nfl/cleveland-browns/teamvsteam?opp=10      Denver poccesses a game manager QB with a below averege OL. McCaffery part 2 will continue with Phillip Lindsey, with a coach that won't forget to get him more plays. Here's a guy that can abuse our soft outside defensive edges like the Chargers did if we don't take him away.. *force their QB to beat us taking away Lindsey*..Denver has key WR & DB injuries also.. Jarvis ain't scared :)

5-23 :P..that chit don't live here no more..

Of course this team has a rich history. But as you say, it’s been WAY too long.

Randy inherited the team from Al? Right?

And Jimmy just bought the team not that long ago, the team is going good now, why the hate for Jimmy? It can’t be that easy owning an NFL franchise.

Call Jimmy has just made terrible personnel decisions up to this point so that’s why he gets the collar

I didn't do a trivia thread this week....but yes, it would be terrible.

Gumby looked it up, and our record is 5-23. LOL, I won't look it up but I'd bet that's our worst percentage against any team that we've played at least 20 times.  :)

100%

I agree. We have a franchise QB, running game, healthy WR core. Good defense.

Im sure there will be some screens for that Denver pass rush.

The Chargers run that sweep/reverse play to perfection and it seems like a good counter to an aggressive pass rush. (They scored on the jet sweep right after KC jumped offsides the play before)

and this is off topic but damn, Philip Rivers is ELITE. And it would be nice if we still had Travis Benjamin.

Great game last nite. Absolutely loved the call to go for two and the win.

I understand how you feel about Jimmy.  But I'm grateful that he finally got it right.  Unlike most fans, I don't feel we should automatically give the head coaching job to GW.  Let's see how he finished the season first.  And give Dorsey some credit, he might have someone in mind that could blow us all away.

I was saying “they’re going for 2” as soon as they scored. No brainer call against KC. Philip was on fire.

If GW wins out, which he may, it’s probably his job unless another candidate out-interviews him and he would get a HC job elsewhere lol.

I think he’ll probably get an HC offers if we lose another game anyway.
