If you backed out all the federal and state workers, as well as members of the military who count on employment figures...and just used all the rest, I wonder what the unemployment figure would then read? Mr. T Posted June 18, 2009 Report Share Posted June 18, 2009 Its 2.7 million people or roughly 2% of the US workforce (not population) employed in over 100 agencies in 800 occupations. as per congressional budget office But if we include all federal, state, and municipal employees, it's about 10% of the total population.
