Who is your Top 10 all time QB list?

depends on your criteria for "greatest".

My opinion, unless your criteria involves superbowls etc etc..

is that Bernie Kosar was one of the most brilliant, competitive qbs to ever play the game. He would be on my list.

Here's something interesting - Johnny Unitas...and Drew Brees...and Baker Mayfield played at the similar size.

Unitas played at 6'1", 196 - per Wikipedia. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Johnny_Unitas and...

" After his collegiate career, the Pittsburgh Steelers of the NFL drafted Unitas in the ninth round. However, Unitas was released before the season began as the odd man out among four quarterbacks trying to fill three spots. Steelers' head coach Walt Kiesling had made up his mind about Unitas; he thought he was not smart enough to quarterback an NFL team,[7] and Unitas was not given any snaps in practice with the Steelers. "

*****************************************

Drew Brees, 6', 209. also interesting - he only received offers from two colleges...

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drew_Brees

****************************************

then there is our guy - Baker Mayfield. I believe Baker will end up on that greatest list.

6'1", 215.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baker_Mayfield

Interesting !

Mayfield is believed to be the first walk-on true freshman quarterback to start a season opener at the quarterback position.[7]

In his first start against SMU, Mayfield passed for 413 yards and four touchdowns. His 43 completions of 60 attempts broke a school record held by Billy Joe Tolliver, and fell only four completions short of the NCAA Division I FBS single-game record for completions by a freshman.[8][9]

Just curious, you have Montana ahead of Manning, and Brees behind them both.

Personally, I feel like Brees is a top 3 all time QB. He plays with the stature of a 6'5" QB, and is the most accurate passer of all time.

I have Manning ahead of Montana and Brees.

Manning was the best game day field general I have ever seen. But Graham (Who I never saw) and Brady brought home so many trophies and won so much that they can't be denied.

I think Brees is awesome, but I think he has only made it to the conference championship twice and SB once, whereas the guys ahead of him have multiple championships, this could be a big year for him, the NFC is wide open ...

Wow, you almost have to break that down into eras, pre 1960s, post or maybe pre super bowl post super bowl which is looking at SB LIII holy cow 53? Some "youngsters" only know the super bowl era.

Very quick, with some overlap, lots of personal preferences:

1. Graham, obvious reasons  2. Unitas 3. Baugh 4. Starr 5. Van Brocklin and others if I think longer about it

1. Montana, joe cool 2. Marino 3. Starr 4. Farve, schoolyard 5. Elway, despite not liking him 6. Honorable mention Kosar, Sipe warriors

Future

1. Rodgers 2. Brees 3. We'll see......    edit add 3. Brady, winner even if the Billy-Pats were cheaters.

I have a hard time saying Graham or Unitas were the best considering the QB position was far different than when they played, nor was my father even alive when they played. So i'll take your words for it.

I love it. No one is willing to admit that 4 time Superbowl champ Terry Bradshaw should be in the top 10. LOL!😁

Well let's get out the ol' magnifying glass and have a "look-see" on #12, what only a 51.9% passer on a championship caliber team? Only two 3,000 yard passing seasons in all of those years? 212 TDs and 210 INTs?   Hmmmmm.

Actually I look at him as a decent QB who just was there to handle things.

I'd like to know who in my Top 11 that Bradshaw is better than?

I haven't even mentioned Young or Aikman, both better.

From his own era, Staubach and Tarkenton were better.

Fouts.

Kurt Warner.

There's 17.

I'll put him somewhere between 18-20 with the likes of Bart Starr and Bob Griese. No shame in that. But Bradshaw really struggled early and he was shot by the time he was 34. The meat of his career was really good, but it was just 1975 through 1982, seven years. And he was assisted by a two HOF receivers, HOF RB, most dominant defense of the era, etc ...

He was a great quarterback on a great team and came up big in the big games ... but he did not have the prolific career of many  of his HOF contemporaries.

Winners always get my vote. I don't care if he is viewed as a low percentage, high int. "manager" or that he stunk it up the first few years, because in the clutch with Superbowls on the line, he came through like winners always do.

Dilfer, B. Johnson, Hoestler, D. Williams and others all won super bowls and none of them would make a top 20 list in anything including Bradshaw. Eh? Fair statement?

None of them won 4 Superbowls with two SB MVPs last I checked.

But all were Super Bowl winners.  The steelrz D won most of those Super Bowls,  Bradshaw was along for the ride.

I make Montana a clear number one due to the era he played in. It’s been much more offense/passer friendly since.

Brady? Meh. Without Belichik he’d be nothing. And even then most of his rings have an asterisk against them anyway.

So Montana GOAT but in the more recent era, Peyton Manning. He was just fantastic to watch and leads Brady 3-2 in playoff meetings which people seem to ignore when they compare the two

I think it is the opposite without Brady Belichick would be nothing. That was proven in five years here in Cleveland where he had four losing seasons

The Browns were in complete rebuild mode for the beginning of that run, and they fell apart in '95 after they announced they were moving.

That being said, Belichick himself said that he needed to be fired in Cleveland to become the HC legend he is now, but I agree with you, he needed Brady more than the other way around.

It would have been interesting to see how the Patriots would have played out if Brady was just a typical 6th round pick, and not the GOAT. Belichick should thank his lucky stars above.
