THE BROWNS BOARD

This Week in the AFC North

Well, the staff came up perfect the first week, needless to say there was a lot of naked hot tub celebrating at The Great Zomboni's Lair. In fact, there is still a lot of naked hot tub partying at TGZ's lair, but someone has to pick this lame-ass Thursday Night game, so we are sending out my Assistant's assistant's assistant's dog's assistant dog: Rex!

th?id=OIP.lsJlcQKbCebrnktCxYSARgHaEK

Go get 'em Rexie ...

Baltimore at Cincinnati, 8:20 PM Thursday Night Football

So what do we know about these two teams so far? We know they can beat the two worst teams in the AFC. Cincy wasn't treated to Nathan Peterbreath though, so their game was closer. I really don't have any astute analysis here, I'm a dog, but we'll stick with the team that we picked higher in TGZ's preseason picks. Ravens. Ruff. RATBIRDS 26 BUNGLES 23

More to come ... We'll be sending Cinnamon  live to New Orleans this weekend for a report on the Saints/ Browns game ... Oh, the things that girl will  do for beads ...

...

OK, in retrospect, sending the new pup out there to handle an intradivisional game for his first assignment was a mistake. Rex is assigned to turf sniffing untIl further notice.

Cinnamon, on the other hand, is down in New Orleans for all the action, here is her live report:

"I talked to special teams coach, Amos Jones. He said the Browns are going to their most effective play ever against the Saints ... Punter up the middle. Oh, and I met this nice girl, Lexi ... we're going to play Twister in the street."

tumblr_odrsvqr6pL1t6pdwfo1_1280.jpg

There you have it, a TWITAFCN Exclusive ... the Browns are bringing back "punter up the middle" this week. I'm not sure that Britton Colquit has the running chops of one Reggie Hodges, but if he gets past this kind of hole he could be our leading rusher on the day ...

But that wasn't even our most effective play in the Superdome in the New Browns Era ... No, no, no ... once upon a time, there was this:

It's New Orleans, anything can happen ... Fake Punt scampers, last minute Hail Mary's, Twister turning naked ... we won't know until Cinnamon's post game report, but here is how TGZ sees it unfolding this week:

Cleveland at New Orleans, Sunday, 1 PM

Why are the Browns different this year? Two words: Defensive Speed. Myles Garrett, Denzel Ward, Terrence Mitchell, Jabril Peppers, Damarious Randall, Jamie Collins ... These guys can get after it. And have you seen the legs on Genard Avery? Week One was not an illusion, the Browns defense will be intense all year and Drew Brees may score some points on us but he will not be sitting in a rocking chair back there throwing darts to open receivers ... those days are over. Offensively the Browns are still working out kinks ... but for once they are working out kinks WITH talent. big day for the wideouts and watch out for Nojoku, this could be his coming out party against Saints D BROWNS 30 SAINTS 27

Kansas City at Pittsburgh, Sunday, 1 PM

Steelers should fare better against Chiefs D, but Ben still has another game-changing turnover in him. Chiefs palymakers should do well against Steeler D. CHIEFS 28 STEELERS 24

Chiefs are at Steelers.    These were two teams that I had predicted would take a step back this year,   but based on first week's performance, I may have been right about one, but wrong about the other.   Chiefs prevailed over their closest division competitor IMO (the team I said would make AFC title game)......Steelers tied an 0-16 team.  While the Steelers have always had the Chiefs number  (I heard that they have not defeated the Steelers in Pisstown since the 1980s),   this game could be a shootout.  And maybe the team with the better defense prevails.   But I don't know which team that is.

And, OK, I will succumb to the practice norms around here and  let you know that I too had an assistance help:    Esmerelda likes taking my dicktation:

For beads? How 'bout with them?

Anywho... image.png.e1d5db1847376e5276085e61e8f7340e.png

Nice start to the season... let's keep it rolling.

Baltimore @ Cincinnati (+1.0) Thu 09/13 07:20 PM CDT

Wrote last week how reports were of (and I saw) a rejuvenated Flacco this season and Week 1 he showed that he's feeling nothing, but good. Additionally the Ravens' D clearly dominated. However, both were against Buffalo so the $1MM question is:

Is Baltimore that good or is it that Buffalo is that bad?

I think it was some of both. How much of each? Dunno, so for now I'm going with 60/40... and that should be plenty enough to worry the AFCN.

Cinci? Thought they'd best Indy in Week 1, but mostly because I expected Luck to show less than he did. So the Bagels showed more... especially on D... as they won convincingly. However, on O their ground attack was limited by an Indy D that teams should be... or at least historically have been... able to run on. I don't think the Bagels run well this week either.

Overall this will be a better test for the Ravens, but as I said last week they are the class of the division this year. So this will be another test they pass... and pass rather easily at that... on a perfect nite for football.

Prediction: BLT 37 CIN 20

I look for a vicious game with a lot of penalties and illegal hits. I hope they destroy each other and soften themselves up for us.

Cane Flo just outside my door with some winds & bands of rain in Greenville just starting.🌀 Doubt I'll have power for Saints game? So bring us home a win, "big ugly's" of this board;) I'll hopefully be tuning in on my sirius radio tuning into Jim Donovan for the same ..Tonight's game might be the only game capable of watching in these parts? In Dutch's projection thread, I have these two blow hole teams tieing once..that tonight 27-27..Browns will get up early by 10, than pull this sucker out by 4..27-23..Go Browns!!  #goawayflo  Rexie just ain't sexy

Bengals look good. Always liked Dalton.

I agree.. I'm not saying he's all world talent wise.. But he's smart.. Makes plays.. Plays well within his abilities..  And he doesn't waste throws... Id like having him instead of Taylor.. who is just not good enough to lead a team anywhere in My view...

Had the game on tape delay and watched in fast forward. Dalton is Mr. Inconsistent. When he's on- which he was against the Ravens, he's all world. Then put him in the playoffs he's El Stinko. That's 0-4, 1 TD, 6 ints, 58 qbr which is 20 points lower than his regular season 88.

Bluntly- I thought the game was going to turn into a blowout.

Flacco had a lot of yards, but missed a lot of open receivers...

Marino was El Stinko in the playoffs. Dalton is a very good QB.

I could not find the game on my TV. It must’ve been on NFL network which My carrier does not carry

I have Comcast. We don't get the NFL network either. 2018 and we have this blacked out bullschidt, just as if we still lived in the antenna VHF days.

I didn't make the rule- but I do agree with it. It's way easy to see that all that and way more, for free- if porn websites are your thing.

Tom, it's the primary reason I'm still with Directv, Sunday ticket aside. Instead of getting into squabbles about certain networks asking too much for broadcast rights- they just up my bill on a regular basis. :) FWIW- about 10% of my base satellite bill- $9 is just for the ESPN networks.

We had issues here in Dayton with NFLN blacking out Browns preseason games-when they shouldn't have done so. Should only happen if there's an OTA broadcast, so the local TV stations can get the advertising cash.  And now here's something that really bites- if you were a Bengals fan and wanted to see the Ravens game. I was under the impression that one of the Cincinnati stations would pick up the game over the air- they're supposed to, and there isn't any blackout rule anymore. Well, they didn't. Neither did Channel 7 here in Dayton. So unless you had satellite or cable- you would have been forced to go to the local BW3 to see the game.

Roethlisberger has not practiced all week as his throwing arm was injured when the Browns’ Genard Avery strip-sacked him near the end of the OT period.  His backup has taken all of the snaps with the 1st team in practice this week.

If we'd had porn sites on an internet back in the day, my room would have been locked from age 13 on.🤩

Brother would have slept in the hall.

Fuck you, there are no Motherfucking kids in here and if there were their parents would have hunted you down and shot you by now. The rules will not be applied evenly. No one has any rules, we go by common sense,  except you, you have rules, one of which is don't post in my threads, Bitch. There ya go ... there's a rule, apply it evenly.

Yes and let's keep the facts completely  straight this is ONE very specific thread started in 2008 with 611,775 views:

TheBrownsBoard's Official & Original: HOT Cheerleaders Thread

By Mr. T, October 26, 2008 in THE BROWNS BOARD

Any problems or questions with that? It isn't new or confusing and does NOT have any profane, juvenile, offensive, argumentative or just plain intentionally stupid comments.

Besides I've always thought cheerleaders and other lovely ladies are kind of nice........so does the NFL. ;)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Now back to football,  question why does Cincinnati have cheerleaders and not Cleveland? And I think 26 of 32 teams have cheerleaders, hmmmmmm.
