with who? u dont have to be a marketing savant to realize the people who are slaves to that brand, arent people who are going to be put off by kaepernick.

im actually irritated that this campaign will likely make them money. They're just another corporate entity cashing in on a trend, theres nothing real about these people. I feel sorry for the gullible consumers that eat this sht up ftom these fake a.ss companies

I'm hoping this will cost them money but we'll find out with their sales in the coming months. They might even get an initial bump but I think long term this will hurt them. It makes no business sense to me. It seems a business would want to expand their consumer base instead of limiting it. Most businesses would rather not get involved in any kind of controversy and for good reason. It usually hurts sales.

ahhhh, now we're outraged about nike's labor practices. I am going to spit so much toxic venom at people if it took mildly racist attitudes toward a kneeling colored boy for them to address what real, decent god fearing people have been trying to bring the american peoples attention for decades.

i think its called conveniently expedient principle.

If you believe all publicity is good publicity then Nike succeeded but I think long term this will hurt their brand.

Lots of young black unemployed men 'buy' Nike.  They don't give two shits about the flag or the Anthem.

Pump the brakes there princess, I haven’t bought any of Nike’s sh!t for over 35 years. Just because they shuttered their US manufacturing operations and moved to SE Asia to recruit child labor. I also don’t own any of their stock. The Kapperdick fiasco is just another reason I despise Nike.

Kneeling has nothing to do with troops or patriotism. He was initially sitting until a Green Beret convinced him kneeling was more respectful.

the reason he is kneeling during the anthem is because America is not living up to the ideals the anthem represents as a symbol. There are plenty of veterans and active duty military who support him—most that I know—and I am one of them.

You are allowing emotions sparked by divisive rhetoric to cloud the reality of what is happening, and ignoring the reasons for the players to demonstrate in the way that they are, a right I served to protect. Police brutality, unwarranted executions, and systemic incarceration of POCs is a real problem with many underlying causes. It is a complex societal issue with repercussions reaching the very fabric of our nation.

I admit, it’s much easier to view the issue superficially in a black-and-white way, but we can do better.

As a veteran, and man from a patriotic military family, you should be equally as offended that this country is not the beacon of hope, equality, and freedom that it aims/claims to be.

I pulled that straight off Ahmad's feed.

Not the first place I saw it though.

Ran across a long thread about the Business aspect of this.

Apparently this is more a Risk Management type move.

Nike has these long term labor contracts with China that are evidently more valuable than losing half of the US customers.

The intent here is to align themselves with China in preparation for the upcoming Tariffs on these products.

Now here's the crazy part.

They're intentionally looking to drop the Valuation of their Company.

With a lower Valuation, they will be able to get better labor costs, which will offset the upcoming Tariffs.

Oh, and as if China's labor isn't bad enough, China actually sub-contracts much of this work to   .   .   .   North Korea.

How cool is that ?

That's more or less the gist of what I got out of it - lot of CPA and numbers juggling.

I will continue to wear my NIKE ARMY boots, because like my fellow soldiers and those who have served before me, we ARE NOT disrespected by Kap. We joined so that we can continue to let others voice their opinions!

Corporate fat cats don't buy season tickets  - their companies buy club seats and suites to entertain guests and clients which they attend once or twice a year.  They dont give a flying Shmuck about the actual game or branding.

Moving on...

yea its the same thing   moving on -

Nike comes of like a "credit default swap" specialist, hedging against both sides of the division

they must suppose the  $$ are an entity unto itself and the nfl handlers know there are constant revenue streams FLOWING into their pockets ?

what will be seen is the disintegration of the nfl as we see it today as the division from the country grows wider and opposition to the kneelers

get louder....

but good for you kap, when you gonna do something?  like bring the sides together on this?

thanks for your service for us and our country

certainly you would agree that the "time and place" of the protests are wrong?

if not more so than to disrupt the anthem by calling attention to it,  (they are already being treated as children being told to stay in the locker room)

When Kapernick and kneelers dont recognize the response they get and fail to engage in some off field / off season mediation,  is just plain lazy

its hard for me to take them seriously.

Nike waded into this controversy on their own  and I'm sure had a well planned agenda behind it. Chick Fil A was thrown into a controversy they never wanted.

Since 2016, 381 officers have been killed in the line of duty. I think their families know what sacrifice is all about.

The NFL is killing the NFL.  Also cost...   not kneelers.     Check out viewership last year across Nascar as well.  You about to tell me the non-existent kneelers there cost them numbers?
