2018 NFL HALL OF FAME GAME on NBC 8 pm.

The Baltimore Ravens and Chicago Bears will travel to Canton in August to kick off the 2018 Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement Week Powered by Johnson Controls. The Ravens and Bears will face each other in the Hall of Fame Game on Thursday, Aug. 2 at 8 pm ET in the spectacular Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium.

The Ravens are making their first-ever appearance in the Hall of Fame Game while this year’s game will mark the fifth time that the Bears will play in the preseason classic.[\b]  Chicago has posted a perfect 4-0 record in the previous trips to Canton with victories over the Miami Dolphins (27-24 in 2005), Cleveland Browns (13-0 in 1990), New York Jets (20-6 in 1977), and Dallas Cowboys (30-24 in 1968).

And it's football season.......  The Ravens enter as 1- or 1.5-point favorites, depending on the sportsbook. The over-under, or total number of points Vegas thinks will be scored, is 33.5.

We are fortunate to have the NFL Hall of Fame in our backyard and if you can't make it there there's the always improving Web site to look up almost anything else especially about the current and member players by any search requirements you want.

Try not to "gorge out" because of 1-31. Your daughter will know the meaning. They filmed some of the scenes from Tarzan movies with the gorge as background.

What insane person bets the spread on a Hall of Fame game?

Long, long, long ago I used to bet on some rather out there sporting venues with a few friends some actually made money especially before everyone had computers, inside information could be gold. I did know a few bookies from Youngstown which helped.

A few.....one friend specialized in Ivy League football, I thought he was nuts but the books had weak numbers, I learned a lot like when are finals, who doesn't have a backup quarterback etc.

We used to bet every game in March Madness, trick is to watch the games before/during the conference tournaments.

NFL pro bowls when after the super bowl, bet the super bowl losing conference, the winners sat their players plus a slight revenge factor AND back then they wanted the money.

In preseason go against the set teams and with the ones with quarterback and other key position challenges - still somewhat true today BUT I don't like the NFL to bet much now.

I'm way too lazy to do all that now. ;)

Right degenerate gamblers

Yes gambling like any unchecked compulsive behavior can get you in trouble.

I've always told especially kids it's called gambling not sure thing and don't bet the rent and grocery money unless you like to be both wet and hungry.

It can be fun but I worked too long and hard to just blow my money.

When I go to casinos I set an "entertainment" budget for being there.  That was mainly for slots or the very rare table game.  Heretofore you could only bet sports in Nevada, and I have had a couple of occasions to bet on the Browns at a Nevada Casino.  Once in Lake Tahoe, once in West Wendover.  But those were only $5-10 bets.

Yes, I used to like to go to the track maybe once a month in college, great date night, I'd put $xxx in the front of my wallet for betting if/when it's gone I'm done, worked well.

Nice to have a plan.  Also left money for a nice meal or whatever, fun just to walk around the grounds, etc. My wife and I went on our first date there.....and got one of my two ever speeding tickets on the way home from the old Waterford Park racetrack, lol. That was in 1979.

Eh, If I happen to be in Vegas I probably would just for fun.

Man, the years go by don't they? It feels like yesterday Ray Lewis, Urlacher, and Dawkins were tearing the league up on defense and it's already been 5 years since they hung em up. The HOF day is a lot cooler though actually watching these dudes in their prime like I was able to.

Anybody planning on watching the game?  Speech ceremony?

I used to watch everything in its entirety every single year......years back. Still will probably  catch most of it.

I'll watch a few drives, excited that football is back... then it hits me how much preseason football sucks and I'll start watching 'The Office' or something... 😁

Nice watching the inductees share their thoughts, Jerry Kramer who last played 49 years ago I remember him and the old Pack well.

Oh the game, eh it's on.

Back then I liked GB and later MIA even though there was one GB player who spoiled Jim Brown from going 9/9:

I watched in fast forward, and only when the Ravens had the ball. RG Knee may not make the team. Where's Ghoolie when you really need him? There's only ONE Black Tarkenton this year, and it's Lamar Jackson.

Should we start an over\under pool when he's going to get busted up running?

Speeches? The only guys that may still speak non' jive English are Kramer,Beathard(hit znooze)) and of course the guy from New Mexico=Urlacher;).Robert Brazile gave out Brownies on top of chit-sandwiches on Sundays. Interested in Robert's speech & Brian Dawkins..guy was a straight up Beast..The game, as always this time of year, was a sloppy mess. "Here's your simple high school playbook. If your 1st read is covered? RUN for your life!! Back-up OLmen got out matched by much faster D-men. Orlando Brown with his gumby arm length is a easy holding call waiting to happen. Told myself at half, "2 series with Lamar than back of eye-lids" I made it, but chuckled to myself, "Flacco won't have to worry about anybody behind him again"?  Lamar should be sporting a cast somewhere by September..
