THE BROWNS BOARD

Sneaking up out of nowhere

Is a really talented football team. Hell we have studs aplenty. QB - an actual accurate guy with playoff experience in Tyrod with Mayfield in the wings WR - Gordon and Landry wow RB - Hyde/Chubb and the 3rd down Duke. TE - Njoku set for a serious sophomore year with teams scrambling to cover Gordon and Landry.  On the defensive side LB - Kirksey, Kendricks, Collins and Schober! DE- Garrett and Ogbah (mix in some Kendricks) DB I think is the biggest question mark outside of LT. With Ward and then  Peppers playing in position I think the secondary will surprise. I fully believe this team is about to shock the hell out of the NFL

I sincerely  hope you are right but I am again reminded of one of my favorite quotes from that renowned American philosopher Mike Tyson:

"Everyone has a plan 'till they get punched in the mouth."

Let's see how this team does when they get punched in the mouth and can they win two games in a row.

I probably have this realization once a week. It almost doesn't seem real, right? I'm not stupid, and I realize we haven't played a single game or gone through the injury gauntlet of training camp or the preseason, but we have a TEAM now. I mean, who has better receivers than us? Not many teams, right? We have a new secondary (thank God). Peppers goes to strong safety (THANK GOD). We have killer linebackers, AND depth. We now have running backs, including a veteran bell cow (Hyde), a dual threat in Duke, and possibly the best rookie RB in the draft. I'm not sure people quite realize how good Chubb can be. He's nasty folks.

Do we have some holes? Of course, we couldn't fix EVERYTHING from a winless season in just a few months, but we came pretty close. Joe Thomas retiring after injury just kills me, but we'll figure it out. We have potential studs at key positions and that's something positive. And honestly, what's the best part? We appear to have a team that's going to be FUN to watch. And that's the whole friggin point, right?

We got this. Every team in the NFL gets punched in the mouth, hell kicked in the balls too. This is a team that looks like it stands back up and kicks your butt anyway! I'm fully on the hype train. lol I may even be the conductor.

1) lots of teams have better recievers than us.   Josh Gordon was one of the best recievers in the nfl in 2013.  This next season is 2018. Landry is not a top 20 reciever in the nfl.   Coleman sucks.

2) Peppers being demoted to the lesser/less important of the two safety positions doesn't mean he won't suck still.  And our corners still suck.

3) Nick chubb wasnt even the best rb on his own college team so I doubt he'll be the best rookie rb in the entire league.

On 1) your completely full of Sh!t Gordon and Landry are a top 3 duo 2) Our corners still suck you are basing on nothing but straight trolling 3) Chubb is a stud AND we have Hyde. Duke is one of the best 3rd down backs in the league

Josh Gordon stats - he was a proven commodity way back when, still must prove he can play well in a 16 game season again without screwing up.

The BROWNS secondary should be improved but how much?
The BROWNS backfield should be more than adequate and deep.

Man, I know Gordon has been gone for quite a while but it's somewhat staggering to think that he's had ONE touchdown in almost the last FIVE YEARS.

and he has played 10 games since then....his yards/target(hes been targeting a ton in those 10 games) is quite poor.  So for almost 2/3rds of the season he has played since 2013,  hes actually been quite mediocre.

This idea that he is definately a super elite wideout based off of one great season in 2013 is absurd.  Even if he stays off drugs/etoh its not at all clear what we are getting.  The rest of jcams response was just trolling.

lol I was trolling? Are you off your meds? So let's just talk DB's , your are psychic and know Ward sucks before he ever plays a down?

Josh Gordon is the greatest WR since Jerry Rice. Untouchable in almost every aspect of the game. He was unmercifully punished up until now... and he's pissed off for greatness. It's showtime- but first it's Hard Knocks on HBO.

Here is an article on projected impacts of our newest additions to the team. Comments/speculations?

We have added a TON, including playmakers on both sides of the ball, significant depth, & a solid veteran presence throughout.

This season will be fun!

Mike
