New Tech / Discoveries

Doesn't fit anywhere else, so here is a thread dealing with new Technologies.

Kind of fits with the theme of new Drugs coming out now, only this is Technological advances.

Was quite surprised to see this come out today (which is why I started this thread) :

Other applications.

Pretty amazing stuff.

Note:

This is Fusion, not Fission - big diff and much safer.

What do the experts on 4chan think?

Fusion, not Fission - do you know the difference ?

I remember a Movie about this a long long time ago, thought it was total fantasy :

Now this one concerns me.

image.png.df687fff32220e8bb3c3262e354ffadd.png

https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefings-statements/artificial-intelligence-american-people/

There is more to this one than just face value, which in itself is pretty big.

Yeah, I think we all have a basic understanding of what AI is, but there's a driving force behind this move, and I don't know what it is.

This is actually farther along than the general public knows about, and has been around for years.

I've even seen some recent articles on this that are a bit alarming.

Here's one from last year :

image.png.f2729df381c41000247ffd77ad1c1127.png

https://www.theguardian.com/science/2017/oct/18/its-able-to-create-knowledge-itself-google-unveils-ai-learns-all-on-its-own

This one is more recent :

https://squawker.org/culture-wars/artificial-intelligence-supermodel-claims-its-ok-to-be-white-on-instagram-account/

If this is what they are putting out to the public, imagine what they have that is classified.

I have even seen talk that "Skynet" is effectively active in China.

Crazy ?

After seeing the above and then this (below) I'm not so sure :

image.png.5f4c86bffe9660dc963221cbcf090e9f.png

I have seen other AI articles (may have posted them elsewhere) that are definitely concerning, and then others that are encouraging.

Like I said, there is something more going on here for this enhanced focus than just National Security, I just don't know what yet.

New Tech or BS ?

Didn't want to put this here, but it doesn't really fit anywhere else.

https://www.theguardian.com/science/2018/dec/21/mars-express-beams-back-images-of-ice-filled-korolev-crater

We have been scrutinizing Mars for how many years ?

Now suddenly, we've found a 50 mile wide crater filled with ice.

Not CO2 ice, water ice.

Ever hear of Cydonia ?

That's 1.2 miles, we saw that with Viking 1 back in 1976, but we never saw this until now.

Look above and all around this crater - some pretty large patches of snow/ice can easily be seen.

Seem legit ?

So I assume that you think the moon landings were fake also.  Maybe the international space station is fake?  Maybe jets taking off and flying is fake?

Never said anything about the Moon landings being fake, in fact, this would lend it even more credence.

The point is, we "suddenly" found a 50 mile wide crater filled with ice (all other ice was suspected sub surface).

We have been detecting Planets orbiting distant Stars for yearts now, and on top of that, we can even determine their atmospheric composition.

We've had dozens of missions to Mars, don't you think one of these or even an orbital Telescope could pick out a 50 mile wide ice/snow filled crater on Mars ?

Doesn't add up for me.

Water could have bubbled up to.the surface? That diesnt seem to far fetched. Also a 50m wide crater diesnt exactly stand out like a beacon to a hihh orbital sattelite. We're not in star trek where the enterprise can scan a olanet and instabtly report back its entire minerological makeup and how many sentient lifefirms there are bolloxing about the surface.

Just wait,  the transformer trip in NYC will end up in this or that other horseshit thread.   Bet.

It turned the sky blue maaannnn, the deep state is up to it again!!!

And yeah, lets get some shine down on that over/under.

No, just a Transformer arcing.

Pretty much the same as the one in Louisiana that went out at the same time, and other stuff.

Way off topic for this thread.

This is a bit older, but is some pretty cool stuff (Quantum Locking) :

I had read many years ago about higher temperature Superconductors, I wonder how far along they've come with that ?

Haven't had much opportunity to follow up on it.

Now here is a really interesting collection of items :

Skipping some pages to get to the specific items of interest - above is for source identity.

(Clicking on a page should enlarge it if it is hard to read).

image.thumb.png.bda9053438b6a59c61fd5d8eb8a6bc26.png

Definitely a lot of stuff on here I'd never even heard of before.

It is also interesting to see some "sequels", indicting they had enough success to warrant further work.

No idea how old these projects are, it's had to be some for them to be declassified/redacted (some notes elsewhere).
