Definite leaps in quality...

Expanding the product reach!

I was watching the INDIANS game in Puerto Rico both games and the MLB Commissioner was talking about just that more international games. Of course the real motivation whether it's NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL, MLS is to get more customers for the product in this increasingly streaming world.

Ad dollars, product sales, new younger fans, sell more merchandise even team expansion  is all part of the new sports paradigm (I love using those new business buzz words  ).

I don't think so.

Itjust came to my mind that the Spanish sports journal where I read info about NFL (they even got a podcast) put on the front page the Superbowl article when it was over.

Something you can understand about the second most followed sport event behind the World Cup final in s freaking Sports journal... Well, there were like 20 comments saying that what the heck was an american sport in the front page, that it's not interesting to anyone... Comments full of hatre in some cases.

So no. You'll see earlier NFL Game in Germany than in the "solo fútbol" Spain...

I seem to remember that the now money losing NFL Europe was most successful when it was around areas where US GIs were stationed.

But as a novelty you still might see a few more American football games.

OBR stating Browns will open at home vs the dreaded Steelers, week 17 at Ratbirds. Also the Jets are here for that Thursday night game in week 3.

By some process of elimination.....for those interested in the Big Easy game, per the above the Browns cannot be playing the Saints on:

WK  1;  WK3; WK 5; WK 5; WK 7; WK 8;  WK 9;  WKs  11, 12, 13, , 15 and 17

So, they could possibly play on:

....Sept. 16......bad

....Oct. 14....meh

...Nov 4th....betterish

...Nov. 11  Edit....take this out......looks like Saints play Eagles that day

...Nov. 18.....but it looks like they play the Falcons on Thanksgiving night. Travel schedule would have to be adjusted if they played here.

...December 2d.....this would be optimal...imo
