He would NOT be a replacement for Crow...but would he be a serviceable veteran spot player. I am not sure that we could not do just as well with a Matthew Dayes...or a mid round pick. Unsympathetic
He's done, not worth a roster spot even for the veteran minimum. Avoid. Do not want.
Louisville Slugger
I would give him a 1 year prove it deal. He is talented and may just need a change of scenery. If he is done it has to be a mental thing, I don't think he is out of gas

It appears as if he is done. But he wouldn’t be the first vet to make a paycheck off of the Browns for nothing on the way out.
Dutch Oven
It's almost like using a high pick on a position with a historically short shelf life is a questionable move.

Yea, but don't you know there are some non perishable items. And then in human forms, there are immortals. So unless there is someone in Pittsburgh with a warehouse of Kryptonite, he can't lose

It's not about the position. It's about the player. Punters have an incredibly long shelf life... Martin has been there 6 season, he's 29 years old. Saquon is 21 years old. That's 8 years before he reaches Martin's age. A first round selection on Barkley gives you that coveted extra year. And, if you are correct in saying they have a short shelf life, we're getting the better part of his career for the low in taking the 5th year option. That puts a 21 year old rookie at age 26 where you could possibly, depending on how the first five went offer to extend him another 4 years till 30. Could be sent off, retired with 10 years in the league. Hell, if he finds a fountain of youth and plays another 3-4 year contract. How many QBs have the Browns drafted that didn't last longer than 2 years? By OUR standards, QBs have the shortest shelf life. lol Martin was taken 31st pick of the first round. Dutch Oven
Crow averaged something like 4.7 and 4.1 yards a carry the last two seasons, and this board collectively bitched and moaned about him every chance they could. The board would have a group stroke with a RB averaging 2.9 yards a carry.
Undertaker
Maybe if he came in cheap with a prove it deal it would be ok...but counting on him to be a 300 carry 1200 yard back is probably not a good idea. I also am not sure you want a vet with some baggage at this point.
