but it’s all Hue Jackson’s fault...riiight

Its not Jackson's fault at all...Haslem asked the players and they all said Hue should stay and that was good enough for Jimmy

You wouldn’t know it on this board where 90% of the posters view Hue, Pettine, Shurmur, Chud, Mangini as the main problem.  And some of us, calling Mud, have been saying for years this franchise is lacking real talent and until you have that talented you are going to be successful.

Those guys you name are likely 50% of the problem....the other 50% were the GMs of this team.  Plus....you have to put some on the QBs...but it is the GMs and coaches that choose and teach the QBs to be so bad.

Shanahan goes to a Super Bowl, becomes a HC, gets a QB and wins 5 straight - Shanny got out of Dodge because the GM was trying to run the game...trying to tell them who to play and what plays to call.  AND, they were forced to insert Manziel as QB by the owner & GM when they really didn't think he was prepared to play NFL football.  He saw the dysfunction and wanted out.

Shurmur headed to NFC Championship and most likely heading to Arizona as HC - He wasn't ready to be HC when we hired him.  Remember when he called a running play with no RB on the field?  The TE (Alex Smith) had to line up in the backfield and promptly fumbled the hand-off.  (he later said that he'd never taken a hand-off before)

Pettine taking over Green Bay’s defense - My goodness, he was a terrible HC.  The players used to call him The Ghost because he walked around the practice field without ever saying a word.  Teaching nobody nothin'.  Let's not forget his bright idea to try a 60 yd FG with Devon Hester standing in the end zone. (twice)

but it’s all Hue Jackson’s fault...riiight  1-31 as a Browns HC.  That's one win and 31 losses.  - Let's keep that guy.

As long as the subject here is coaches....what openings are there:

Lions....it seems Matt Patricia is in line for this job

Cardinals...Shurmur? Really....https://scout.com/nfl/browns/Article/Fun-With-Quotes-Pat-Shurmur-Edition-104834280

I also hear that Steelers OL coach Mike Munchak could be a candidate....that would be good news for the AFCN.

Titans:   who knows.....McDaniels name is being brought up.....as is Mike Vrabel.   (both, by the way...Akron area born....McDaniels family moved to Canton after he was born in Barberton...and he attended Canton McKinley HS.  Vrabel's dad was a teacher at Norton HS...and Mike attended Walsh Jesuit)

Giants:  I think it would still be a hoot if BB got this job.   Both Patricia and McD.  get jobs...then he flakes off, leaving Kraft to stew without a natural replacement.  If not BB then Shurmur may still be in the running here, along with interim HC Steve Spagnuolo...and Panthers DC Steve Wilkes.

Colts:  Both McDaniels and Vrabel are talked about here. Why in effing hell could we not get one of these to come home.  Fire Hue now.

All Jackson's fault? Not all, but partially. Done his share of head scratching play calls.

There's also the learning curve and Peter Principle involved. Belichick learned from his mistakes in Cleveland to become arguably one of the greatest head coaches of all time.

& Just because you're a great coordinator, doesn't mean you're going to be a great head coach. Dicck LeBeau will go down as probably the greatest defensive coordinator of all time, and was a lousy HC. On a lesser level, the same could be said about Romeo Crenell.

90%+ of the board on Shurmur and Jackson but as far a Mangini and Pettine   there was alot of back and forth on who got blame between them and the front offices. As far as Chud goes I really don't think anyone cared BTW it seems to me like alot of people forgot just how a bad running game looks(2013) when you have no running backs (Mcgahee).

The basics first DL, OL then a good/great QB would be nice to have or groom while filling out the rest of the team.

Old saying...... "it's easier to fire 1 than 53 or 26"....... or whatever depending on the sport  And Mudfly, miss his insight haven't seen him in awhile.
