The top three players in the ranking are in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Julian Edelman, who went to Kent State, is the only current player and only wide receiver on the list: 1. Sid Luckman, QB, Chicago Bears (1939-50). 2. Ron Mix, OL, Los Angeles/San Diego Chargers, Oakland Raiders (1960-71). 3. Benny Friedman, QB, Cleveland Bulldogs, Detroit Wolverines, New York Giants, Brooklyn Dodgers (1927-34). 4. Julian Edelman, WR, New England Patriots (2009-current). 5. Lyle Alzado, DL, Denver Broncos, Cleveland Browns, Los Angeles Raiders (1971-85). 6. Ed Newman, OL, Miami Dolphins (1973-84). 7. Harris Barton, OT/G San Francisco 49ers (1987-96). 8. Harry Newman, QB, New York Giants (1933-45). 9. Jay Fiedler, QB, Philadelphia Eagles, Minnesota Vikings, Jacksonville Jaguars, Miami Dolphins, New York Jets (1995-05). 10. Kyle Kosier, OT/G, San Francisco 49ers, Detroit Lions, Dallas Cowboys (2002-11). The society, which recently curated an exhibit of rare Jewish football items, also noted the New York Giants' Geoff Schwartz and former Cleveland Brown Mitchell Schwartz are the first pair of Jewish brothers to suit up in the NFL since Ralph and Arnold Horween in 1923. You cite what it means when it is used as a patronym or preposition. As a first name....it is actually Norse: Meaning of Von: "hope" Origin of Von: Norse One guy I remember, was former Indians player Von Hayes. Then there is the famous motorcyle purchased by the American Pickers....the Von Dutch...maybe that is where I got it as being Dutch: I have been to there store in LeClaire Iowa and have seen this famous motorcyle.
