The Browns are on the clock!

Recommended Posts

Now watching NDs WR Equanimeous St. Brown---already one nice long toe tapper on the sidelines. Had gotten past defenders on an underthrow he came back to get.

Good defense for LSU so an excellent test of his skills to get open.

Be sure to watch Baker Mayfield today in the Rose Bowl at 5pm and let's get a glimpse of what may be...

BTW- Hogan won the Rose Bowl 2 times when he was at Stanford.

Would love to see Hogan start next year with Mayfield learning at the Pro Level. Pick up another offensive weapon in the first at #4 and let the game begin.

This is supposedly what a veteran college scout has told SI’s Peter King. . .

Makes some sense.

Mahomes was a big-armed, raw QB.

That's too funny, those two games were not CFP semi finals or finals. Hogan not really the veteran i had in mind to mentor Mayfield.

Got to love Baker Mayfield. He gave the Manziel money sign to signal a play to his team in the first touchdown drive.

Draft this man!:D

I'd prefer that the Browns sign Kirk Cousins and draft Saquon Barkley and Minkah Fitzpatrick in the top 4.  If possible, trade out of the top pick while still getting these guys.

I'm desperate for an elite QB.  Pick up Cousins AND one of the top QB's at the draft to go along with Kizer.  Honestly, I wouldn't be upset if they picked up Cousins and drafted two QB's with the #1+#4..

my Hopes are

Richard Sherman.

What would it cost to get Sherman?  A 2nd or 3rd rounder maybe because he's injured?

That DL for Bama, R.Davis I believe, looks like a man among boys on that line  6'7 306   Any info on him?

Bama's whole defense is so f'n quick and fast it'll make your head spin. All those 5***** players pay off. Tony Brown is not even a star but was considered to be the best overall player in Texas the year he signed with Bama as a 5***** DB.

EDIT: I'd love to pick up Fitzpatrick. He operates the Bama defense like he was the DC on the field. Diagnoses what's going on and call the plays for the D. One smart guy with a ton of talent to go with it.

Wentz was not Wentz when he was coming out either.

I bet that by draft day, Allen is Wentz...

There is no way in hell Allen is Wentz War. I watched everything I could about Carson at ND State. Are their college games similar? Stylistically, yes. But the difference is Allen is a scattershot cannon in comparison to Wentz. You want to draft Deshone Kizer II? Allen is your guy. If his completion % doesn't scare you- it sure does me.

+1-----------if Dorsey takes this guy we are toast for another 10 years. He's a disaster waiting to happen only because he looks (but not plays) the part. On the plus side we would have a new team song.:P

Rosen and a DB in the first round -- don't overthink it.

And get Jim Caldwell as OC, and while we're dreaming get Chuck Pagano as a DC who won't blitz on 2 of every 3 plays.

Allen has never completed better than 56% of his passes in his college career for a season.....

yeah, he doesn't have star wr's and his offensive line is often outpowered and outquicked. Look at the difference between Mayfield, an amazing college playmaker qb, in the first half, and thenhis second half. It's just inaccurate to put so much emphasis on completion percentage of a qb, without considering that it's a team game. Allen is similar to Elway, except without a very, very competitive cast of other players with him.

It's a team game. I like Darnold and Mayfield, but Allen is NFL class caliber. If Allen falls to Denver at 7, it will be Elway all over again.

Seriously - if completion percentage is the deal, draft this kid:

Honorable Mention: Logan Woodside, Toledo

The Rockets' senior quarterback completed 23 of 31 passes for 361 yards in the win over Northern Illinois on Saturday. After completing 69.1 percent of his throws at 9.88 yards per attempt with 45 touchdowns and 11 interceptions in 2016, the 6-foot-2, 210-pounder is connecting on 64.3 percent of his passes at 10.1 yards per attempt with 19 touchdowns and just two picks on the season. Toledo runs a Big 12-ish spread attack, but Woodside has been exceptional operating it over the past two years. He has a nice delivery and quality arm with reliable accuracy. He's a dark horse quarterback prospect.

Cal, Allen was on a team with equal talent to everyone else in his conference. The Mountain West isnt overflowing with talent. Last year, Allen had guys around him that made it to the pros. His completion percentage was just as bad as it was this year. The windows for a WR to get open will only get smaller in the big league.

I think we have heard the story of the inaccurate QB in college going to the pros a few times in Cleveland....painfully enough.

Whatever QB they draft, just know that our coaching staff will do a great job to tailor the offense around the QB's strengths  ;)

Nobody wants these QBs this year. They ALL have question marks beside them. Don't try to get cute and overthink it.

You draft Saquon Barkley #1 overall and come right back and take Mayfield at #4.

QB- Mayfield, Hogan, Kizer

RB- Barkley, Johnson, Dayes

WR- Gordon, Coleman, Higgins

TE- Njoku, DeValve

It's time to get offensive. The defense will be okay if we could just put some pressure on the other team for a change.

Plus we still have 3 #2s.
