Wow was that something!  These types of promos are generally underwritten by an insurance or similar deal like will there be 4" of snow, etc. but the bottom line is a lot of people will get free windows.

And really now what team could pull this off? THE 2017 CLEVELAND INDIANS THAT'S WHO! Tito you are the man.

GO TRIBE!

Second longest win streak in the 2000s.  Since WWII these have been the longest winning streaks:

1. Oakland won 20 in a row in 2002.

2. 1947 Yankees won 19 in a row

3. 1953 Yankees won 18 in a row

4. The 1951 NY Giants won 16 in a row

5. The 1977 Kansas City Royals won 16 in a row

6. The 1986 Brewers won 16 in a row.

There were a number of similar streaks prior to WWII.    There have been 6 streaks of 20 or more....the last being those As.  But of those 6, three were in the 1800s.

The record is 26 straight by the 1916 NY Giants.  (the only other 20+ streak since 1900 was 21 by the 1935 Cubs. 2002 As had 20.

(1880 Chicago White Stockings had 21.  1884 Providence Grays had 20. 1884 St. Louis Maroons had 20)

Sports fans usually get a fair share of small incentives if their team wins, like a free taco or burger or bagel.

Thursday's 11-2 win against the Chicago White Sox meant much more to a select group of Cleveland Indians fans.

Thursday's promotion-punching win left customers/fans ecstatic.

"I never believed it was going to happen, so I only started paying attention yesterday," Lorianne Sevic, a customer poised to receive a $34,000 rebate for windows, siding, doors and gutters, said via ESPN.

Universal Windows co-owners William Barr and Mike Strmac had a watch party on Thursday with their customers at Progressive Field. The idea for the promotion derived from the company celebrating its 15th anniversary.

A win by the Cleveland Indians on Thursday night resulted in a local company rebating customers who spent $1.7 million on window installation, siding, doors and other services.

Universal Windows Direct offered a promotion during all of July that any customer who did business with the company would receive a full rebate if the Indians went on a 15-game winning streak any time between Aug. 1 and the end of the season.

On Thursday night, Universal Windows co-owners William Barr and Mike Strmac and their customers had a watch party at Progressive Field, as the Indians beat the White Sox 11-2 in Chicago for their 15th straight win.

"I never believed it was going to happen, so I only started paying attention yesterday," said Lorianne Sevic, who with her husband Dan paid the company to do $34,000 worth of windows, siding, doors and gutters in July that they will now get for free.

Barr said the idea came to him thanks to the fact that the company was celebrating its 15th anniversary. He said he spent $75,000 for the insurance to cover the $1.7 million in sales. The company now has to submit a claim to the insurance company, and Universal Windows should have its money within a week to then dole out to its customers.

The streak, which began Aug. 24, included a win over the Red Sox, three wins over the Tampa Bay Rays and the New York Yankeesand four wins over the Detroit Tigers and the White Sox.

The 15 straight wins is a franchise record, surpassing a streak of 14 last season. The 15-game winning streak is the longest in Major League Baseball since the Oakland A's won 20 in a row in 2002.
