You'd meet real Americans who don't agree with your worst spendthrift president in the history of our country. You could even talk to them in person. They were just regular folks. Hundreds of smiles and sad and funny stories. Regular young and old and in between Americans who have to worry about the taxes that EVERYONE will have to pay to pay for Obama's universal utopia for everybody who doesn't work. Hopefully, things won't get worse bigtime, and you can still be in denial and not cry more. But I think we are really screwed by this president and the Dems in Congress. Their utopia under Obama is under seige! And now we have Texas talking about leaving the Union due to Obama Liberals, and there are other states that have set themselves up to stop any socialist Laws that come there way and will Declaring Sovereignty Under the 10th Amendment. google it. Seems like Obama's relatively high poll numbers would translate into more viewership for the station dedicated to his promotion. Here's an honest guess and not a slap at anyone here. People who consider themselves "conservative" by and large pay more attention to news. Liberals mostly don't think of themselves as liberals, but they do think conservatives are evil idiots. So as it ends up tyhey don't so much love CNN as they hate Fox. Actually the Daily Show is more honest. They don't pretend to be fair and they are funny and it's only a half hour. Most of the country doesnt have an issue with taxes right now ,most people are worried about jobs, health insurance, oil prices,schools ,you know the things we have completely ignored for almost a decade. In all fairness this whole tea party thing looks like a bunch of far out radical right wing cooks who couldnt draw flies to something that a good 70% of Americans could give a shit less about. Taxes have gone down for everybody except the rich {who saw a 3% increase} , this whole scheme was cooked up by Fox to fire up the base which it laughingly seems to have done but theres no teeth to any of this and its pretty funny to see trailer trash throwing their lipton ice tea in the river. About the taxes that WILL HAVE to be paid over many years to try to undo the damage to our economy. It's about the "hidden taxes" - the outrageous fees for ...well.. everything. Fees and fines for using a woodstove, or having a campfire, or a big truck. or an SUV, or driving a long drive (required GPS and taxed on how far), skyrocketing registration fees and fines referring to gun ownership, farming, the sick and outrageous inheritance (death) tax (yes, which Bush didn't get rid of either), the proposed legislation to make everybody who even has one cow or chicken or pig for their own use to register and pay a lot of fees to enroll in mandatory fed control programs, the fines for selling firewood (proposed), the desire to raise our gasoline prices to European levels... It isn't "just the tax rate". It's the direction. The really, really wrong direction. and it was NOT right wing extremists etc. I was there. you were not. Today is the first pay period with the proposed tax changes Obama set fourth, I got 45 dollars more because of lower federal taxes. The average American family will pay an extra $3100 bucks a year for the energy they use, per the energy tax based on average energy use, if Obama and the Dems have their way. But if that extra 45 bucks makes you happy, it won't last too long, maybe. Lowering the tax rate is just a bait and switch for far more $$$ taken from us all in fees, energy "carbon footprint" taxes, mileage taxes, SUV/TRUCK/TRACTOR purchase taxes, gun purchase taxes, there isn't enough money with the top 5% of Americans, the richest, to offset the hellish deficit Obama and Congress (yes, and Bush, too) created to ever pay off the national debt for decades, if ever.
