You have as much of a boner for pettine as he did for hoyer, and you guys seem to have similar understanding of football. Due to lack of players, no stability and an overall losing franchise is why Pettine is the coach. You fire him you might as well hire a loser re-tread or another unproven guy to start over. Again if this was a talented team, with all the pieces, that just couldn't win I'd agree but Lombardi isn't getting this band of bums to the Promised Land. This defense shows improvement next year or year 4 is sudden death for pettine. I'll be on board with firing him before mid season if this shit is still going on in 2 years. By year 4 you can't say they haven't had time to get his guys in there. Unless it can be shown Farmer just stone walled him and made him take players that Farmer liked but he didn't. Stop the myopia, this isn't about Pettine. This is about a string of short term coaching changes. I wouldn't be adverse to firing Pettine if we had come off some long term coaching regimes, but have you been paying attention the last few years? If we fire Pettine it's over for a decade at the prospect of bringing any kind of real coaching talent to Cleveland. It's already hard enough to get good people here, what you're suggesting is just death to the franchise.
