Mr. T
Safeguard Food Supply But Respect Small Farms http://standeyo.com/NEWS/09_Food_Water/090...ly.farmers.html Finding the right level of regulation is difficult. Some proposals in Congress do too little and others go so far they could put some small farmers out of business. Congress should take time to listen to voices beyond the lobbyists employed by the industrial farms and big importers. Carefully crafted reforms will improve food safety without sharply raising prices or sending the food police snooping around every vegetable patch and pasture. I couldn't agree anymore. While congress tries to do something to protect all of us, big lobbists may want to try and seize the opportunity to make farming so expensive that it will drive the smaller family farm out of business. calfoxwc
I figure they will take over the big farms after leaning on them financially, and they don't want any local small farmer competition to thwart their skyrocketing prices.
