THE BROWNS BOARD

Another back door dishonest attack on our free speech

I am not saying I am judging. That's just a diversionary cya.

Society has to set certain rules. You want child abuse on TV and in the movies etc for children to see?

And then try to explain why that is not permitted? Except, it IS condoned?

Gay everything seems to be the ulterior motive for anti-censorship wonks.

Nobody can prevent children from being badly affected by way overboard garbage all the time.

That's why there are laws and restrictions. Total freedom is the freedom to deny other's their freedom.

With freedom comes responsibilities. But some folks don't want to be responsible. They just want the freedom part.

Too bad. Reality and society rule. And that is going to be the case no matter where on earth you go to find a society

to live in.

The fight for freedom is never over, we must never let our guard down. As for all the gay crap on tv, I dont want to see it let alone my grandchildren to turn on the tube some day and be exposed to it. To me it would be like having to sit in a room with Bawnr Fwanks for 15 minutes listening to him ramble on and on while he slobbers all over his shirt.

The line needs to be drawn somewhere, of whats appropriate and what isn't.

Don't want to see it on TV? Don't watch it. Don't want grandchildren to turn on the TV someday? Program the v-chip to block that programming, or entire channel.

Just because YOU don't want to watch it doesn't mean everyone shouldn't be able to watch it.

Don't like decency on TV? Make your own show on a closed circuit TV.

Your freedom ends at the door to other's freedom. Parents should be free

to go out in society, to movies, etc, without having their children taught

really sick, twisted, and obscene crap.

Pay per view? fine by me... but on on the public airwaves. No one has the

right to offend others on the public airwaves. It's for everybody.

So again mz the pussy, are you up for animated kiddie porn on Saturday morning?

If not why berate somebody who thinks it's good to keep more vulgar material from children?

I realize everyone will hear that stuff as they mature.

Do you honestly think it's better to let it all out in the developmental stage?

and i should be free to watch whatever i want, because my freedom of information is guaranteed by the constitution that you love so much.

but in this case, since you disagree with the material, the first amendment isn't such a good idea.

pick one cal.....its a cake.

steve.....either make a somewhat valid example or just stop. no one is advocating kiddie porn, except you, apparently.

now, whats the problem with cleavage on TV? is cleavage gonna turn your boy into a serial killer?

here's an easy solution: what dont you moral christians actually listen to the buybull and practice tolerance. because all you do now is legislate your morality, then bitch when the dems do the same thing.

i feel sorry for your children.....

I don't have children and I don't particularly like yours.

So:

Cleavage on TV?

You tell me.

How about F bombs?

How about naked tits?

How about bush?

Labia?

Penis?

Erect penis?

Penetration?

Oral sex?

Anal?

And all that is before we get into PC language.

In the movie rating system, for example, there are limits to each of the above.

They are kind of a graduated scale.

To your questionb:

Nope.

Cleavage on TV won't make your kid a serial killer.

Will any of the above?

And if not, I assume you have no problem with it being on Saturday morning.

Is that true?

If not isn't it just your own personal morality being enforced?

Do you draw a line anywhere on that list?

Why or why not?

If they have the backing of advertising to back it up then why not? Things wouldn't be shown at "inappropriate times" because of demographics and advertising. TV isn't free to produce.

I remember growing up, and a lot of my friends parents didn't like the use of the word "butt" or "idiot" or "stupid" or "shut-up". Obviously these shouldn't be on TV either, because people have a right to protect their kids from what they think is bad, right?

I think the best way to meet in the middle on this debate is to implement the way tv works like it is in Ireland. They have the same old censored, family friendly tv until 9:00 at night. 9:00 is called the "Watershed" hour. From 9:00 pm onwords, TV isn't censored. f-words, tits in commercials and all the good stuff. Usually people who try to protect their kids from TV shows like Ren and Stimpy are in bed by 9:00 anyway.

Well at least I thank ya for an honest answer.

As for me I don't think you can trust all advertisers and all stations to pass up the profit tha's out there for hard core porn.

And I don' trust many parents (even the few who'd actually try) in todays nanny state to be able to control it or explain it.

And I personally don't think that too little vulgarity os one of the problems society aces.
