BrownIndian
he is a Free Agent in 2009. Anderson has to be traded and we need a back up who is good. Presto Rexo ! is it a good idea ?
Guest Masters
In the end, getting Rex would be having a shorter DA. A guy with a big arm, but cant' hit the short to intermediate to save his life. Then again, Rex has gotten to the playoffs and the SB. So he might be a step up to having DA as the back up. onefellswoop7
Wouldn't be too against it. It'd be nice to have a backup more similar to Quinn. That way our offense doesn't have to be too reworked and we can keep our game plan.

That way our offense doesn't have to be too reworked and we can keep our game plan. grossman and quinn are as different as DA and quinn. grossman's got a big arm, makes bad decisions and can't stay on the field, unlike quinn's supposed to be, which is a guy with an adequate NFL arm who makes good decisions and is in decent health aside from what we all hope is a freak injury. the guys we should be looking at are byron leftwich (my first choice), dan orlovsky and chris simms. leftwich will likely want to start or will stay in pittsburgh. orlovsky will likely come cheap because of the atrocious year detroit had, but he's got starting experience, even if he didn't win a game while doing it. and simms has experience in a WCO from his time in tampa and will also likely come cheap. what we don't need is another guy with a huge arm who's injury prone and makes bad decisions unless the other guys get snapped up. I feel like a backup needs to be the exact opposite of Grossman. A guy, albeit with less big-play potential, who can come in and manage the O without making a ton of mistakes. Riffer X
No Grossman, although watching him and DA have a Retard off would be entertaining, just not on my team.
pl4tinum
Just ask yourself if you'd be happy seeing him start 10 games for us. There's your answer... NO.
Guest Aloysius
I like Orlovsky, but I'm not sure we can reel him in. He's good buddies with DA, so I'm not sure he'd be too excited about coming in to replace him.
Gips
Most of us think bq will start so...no grossman we need a backup that will fit more down the line of our starter if DA were starting then grossman would be perfect as a matter of fact he would win the starting job and we would have a way overpaid backup in DA.. Dorsey needs to go as well to make room for our new backup if its not Gradkowski now that we have an active qb coach we no longer need dorsey's less than impressive tudoring.. Now that is some funny stuff! Why does DA remind me of that dude from South Park that was frozen in ice from 1995...
Solon16
I'd make my play for Chriss Simms from Titans...I'm pretty sure he only signed a 1 year with them last year! not positive though....will be a solid go to guy if Quinn shits the bed!!! glenby73
Vote Simms. Wondering what it would be like to be a chicago fan with the whole Orton/Grossman controversy has been a big help in maintaining my sanity since "coingate" started two years ago. Oldcrow1945
Charlie Frye.....Just kidding! How about J.P. Losman? We've seen 1st round picks fail and come back strong with their second teams.
