VaporTrail
I don't envy you. I was just in Michigan and Colorado and got another taste of it. It almost makes you wonder if they're trying to make people so disgusted that they stay home. You'd think there's got to be some point where it's so saturated that you get diminishing returns. Worst part? The campaign starts for real after Labor Day so you ain't seen nothing yet. Glad I don't have cable and only really listen to NPR. Unfortunately that garbage is already seeping into the internet.

The local news is almost ALL political ads. IT's unwatchable.

But not watching local news will probably boost your IQ by a few points, so avoiding it has other benefits as well. Or DVR everything you want to watch and fast forward through the commercials. Your favorite shows whenever you want to watch them, no commercials. Another agreement. Most stuff i like comes on later in the evening and at my age I can really stay awake until 11. I like sons of anarchy a lot and Mad Men. Justified isn't bad though it's a little disjointed until the last few episodes. WSS

Thought the last season of Mad Men was disappointing. Haven't tried Justified or SoA. Don't watch too much TV. Like Breaking Bad, but haven't seen the latest season. Hey, it's better than talking about the conventions.

Saint
What is with all the bitching and whining over the electoral college? This is how representative style governments work. We sure as hell don't want one of those democracy socialist style governments. and if you watch television this week you will find many cult figures and communist envade Charlotte for the DNC. One Obama worshipper built a fuckin sand statue. I heard they were also sending film crews to Charlotte, they needed some shots of zombies walking around downtown for the walking dead show. Saint
Pro-Abortion Democrats Scream at 11-Year-Old Pro-Life Girl at Convention I want you to meet my friend and fellow abortion abolitionist, 11-year-old Zoe Griffin. In a world when grown adults ignore, deny or just don’t care about the abortion holocaust that has claimed over 55 Million of Zoe’s generation, she is willing to take a stand no matter what people think. Zoe joined her mother and friends to lay thousands of roses outside the site of the democratic convention and pray for the babies, the politicians and this generation. While Zoe was praying, pro-abortion activists who claim to stand up for women began to belittle and scream at Zoe for her stand for life. What is so sad is that one of the women who did this to Zoe, Sunsara Taylor, is a well know anti-porn activist who claims to be against the degradation of women. I guess just not 11-year-olds who believe that women should not be dehumanized by the abortion industry. Sunsara Taylor’s Blog http://sunsara.blogspot.com I could write a lot about this and how much I am sickened by what happened, but I wanted to let Zoe tell you in her own words how what happened and why she will never quit being a Stand True Activist. Praise God for young women like Zoe, she is why this is the generation who will abolish abortion. Here is Zoe’s account: http://www.lifenews.com/2012/09/03/pro-abortion-democrats-scream-at-11-year-old-pro-life-girl-at-convention/

That's funny, because I think you're ignorant, angry, and nuts, but I'd still go to the mat to make sure you could vote. But hey, that's the difference between me and you. Among many. Saint
What a touching tribute to Teddy Kennedy at the convention tonight. They left out a few key moments, like that crazy moment when he willingly let Mary Jo Kopechne die! I guess thats just how a fat drunken liberal will do ya! JPPT1974
Well Michelle Obama spoke tonight. VP Biden to speak tomorrow night. As it would be neat to attend a convention at one point! Saint
Sure enuff JPPPTTTT whatever your name is, you can go if you can get passed the front gate. Make sure you bring a ID to get in the convention, this is the only place Democrats make people show an ID. They sure as hell don't make or want anyone to have to show a ID to vote. Westside Steve
Heck, no I have never seen an episode of no reservations. it seems pretty cool. mostly I tend to enjoy that kind of thing, and many of the cooking shows. I used to be a fan of both the galloping and frugal gourmets. My career path has always had an ancillary* link with the kitchen so I'm both fascinated by it and reminded how much different it is from cooking at home. WSS * hoping I used that word correctly. Then you're going to love it. Traveling, eating, drinking, often with a side of rock and roll. Some of the episodes are actually quite informative. As for the conventions, couldn't agree more. I have no desire. I'd been to the two Bush inaugurations and the Obama inauguration, and that's bad enough. But those are more focused on the party than the "Party."
