Obama Compares America to Nazi Germany

Barack Obama has further established his credentials as a truly unhinged moonbat radical by comparing America to Nazi Germany. LGF quotes from The One's ruminations on the Supreme Court, which he has chastised for not being sufficiently radical on the subject of "spreading the wealth around":

… just to take a, sort of a realist perspective … there's a lot of change going on outside of the Court, um, that, that judges essentially have to take judicial notice of. I mean you've got World War II, you've got uh, uh, uh, the doctrines of Nazism, that, that we are fighting against, that start looking uncomfortably similar to what we have going on, back here at home.

Ironically, Nazism was a form of socialism, according to which all of society was oriented toward an all-powerful, race-obsessed state. This doesn't sound much like America, but it will if Obama is able to inflict Change.

And for those who are curious what Obama was talking about, he was giving the common explanation for why the SCt moved from upholding a state law requring students salute the flag in 1940 (Minersville School District v. Gobitis) to declaring a similar law unconstitutional in 1943 (Virginia State Board of Education v. Barnette).

The common explanation is that the US became involved in WWII, and the justices became more conscious of how such attempts to foster national unity resembled actions taken by the Nazis.

Here's more info:

In overruling Gobitis, the Supreme Court questioned that case's premise that national security is contingent upon national unity. The Court noted that Gobitis had been subjected to much criticism, and cited a number of civic organizations that compared the mandatory flag salute regulations in the United States to similar laws that had been promulgated in Nazi Germany. The Court in Barnette stated that national security is hardly vindicated by permitting the government to expel a handful of children from school.

The government may instruct children on the value of patriotism, and it may acquaint students with the historical importance of the American flag, but the Court cautioned that government must not become a partisan of any religion, class, or faction in doing so. When states are fulfilling their crucial mission of educating impressionable children, the Court stressed, public schools must not "strangle the free mind at its source, and teach youth to discount important principles of government as mere platitudes."

That's what Obama was referring to. At best, your "best dirt" only proves that Obama knows the history of American constitutional law.

EDIT: Just listened to the clip. He isn't talking specifically about the flag salute cases, though he's recognizing how the same historical shift influenced judicial decision-making on civil rights cases.

At worst, which is what I obviously take it for, it is merely more hate-ridden sludge. Par for the course.

But I didn't need to say that, did I.

Why is it so darn difficult to get beyond this stuff already?

Yeah. It's also an "I don't care what the evidence says; I've already made up my mind" response.

Cal, I don't get why you even start these threads if you're not going to engage in a discussion of the subject matter.

You're not going to convince anyone that you're right if you're not actually listening to anyone else. What you end up with is an echo chamber in which you, T, and others smear the other side without even thinking.

It's just pointless. Honestly, I don't get why you do it.

The CYA for Osamaobama is not valid. Because Obama sucks.
