The Gipper
ThLast Sunday's performance against the Tennessee Titans was a typical Colt McCoy game. His numbers weren't terrible, but his play was. McCoy is supposed to be an accurate quarterback, but he is completing just 58.1 percent of his passes in a high percentage West Coast Offense. He is also averaging just 5.7 yards per attempt and despite throwing the second most passes in the NFL, he has thrown just six touchdowns. Grade: D- His completion pct. would probably be about 70% if he didn't have certain fumblefingers trying to catch the ball. That said...sure, he is not doing enough...or at least this offense is not doing enough. It is a combination of things: poor gameplanning, poor play calling, lack of separation by the receivers, and yes, occasionally, lack of execution by the QB. I think in time with this offense things will improve. He will begin to find more downfield to throw to.
