So guys, what's your take on issue 5 and 6?

I'm voting no on the casion BUT don't like the idea that the Indiana casino is leading the fight.

Still I figure screw em if they want tourist dollars to go anywhere but the Bay and seeing ME in particular icon_e_biggrin.gif !!

But I know a lot of irresponsible people who blow 15% of their meager income every month at those check cashing joints.

But

I also realize it's their choice and they oughta learn to be responsible....

Hmmm

Whaddya think??

I think nobody likes to talk issues. Only hate mongering and mud slinging. The number of posts here says a lot.

You didn't even have to mention UFO eating babies.

Here http://www.sos.state.oh.us/SOS/elections/I...allotBoard.aspx are the issues.

I have no problem outlawing those check-cashing places. I honestly don't see why those places need to exist but I haven't read up on it so I may be missing something.

I would legalize the casino. I don't see why people shouldn't be allowed to gamble.

Why the discrepancy in my opinions, limiting people's liberty in one case but not the next?

I guess I see the check-cashing places as not really providing any service to people, other than convenience at a fee, which isn't much of a service then. While paying for convenience isn't inherently a bad thing, I don't really see how it helps people, versus just going to a bank, for example. Plus, I'd guess there is some question about who is using these places, right?

Casinos are a source of entertainment that has the potential to lead people astray, yes, but that's really no different than any other vice, right? So as long as we can drink and smoke (thank God) we should be able to gamble. And do drugs, too, but that's another thread. icon_e_smile.gif

I am voting against the check cashing ahem legal loan sharks.... there is a reason the DOD banned military personnel from using them and even brought it to Congress.

I am also voting for gambling. One people are going to gamble anyways we might as well keep it in state.
