Another good western I like a lot is Pale Rider.

 

 

Yes, it is. Other Eastwood ones I liked as well included Hang Em High and High Plains Drifter.

For John Wayne a couple of his later films were pretty good: The Shootist and The Cowboys (but NOT True Grit).

And a couple of his earlier ones: Red River, Stagecoach, and Fort Apache

 

And what about the Costner trio: Dances with Wolves, Open Range, and Wyatt Earp (not as good as Tombstone)

How about Big Country.

And Lonesome Dove? (do mini-series count?)
