BRADY QUINN TRADED

Is Hillis a full time HB or FB or a little of both? I just would like to know any opinions on what he is going to do for us.

as a fb his main role would be to bang some heads as a punishing blocker. i would love to see him catch the ball out of the backfield like Lorenzo Neal. to me that's some real hardcore, blue collar football that gets the offense pumped up and turns the crowd into a frenzied mob. that is what i would love to see from hillis

Look at his stats form 08. He caught for 116 one game, 4 weeks later ran for 129. Looks like a Brad Hoover type back. Can catch, run for short tough yards, some speed and can block.

No shit, look at this video. This dude is 250lbs? Any every down back?

Thanks for the video. The dude shows good hands and has great feet.

I like it!

That pretty much describes Hillis. You should be happy if the coach utilizes his talents.

The first few clips here show him taking on tacklers and moving the pile forward.

WOW. That is a big rb who can RUN. Ah, yeah, this Browns fo and coaching staff KNOW what they are doing.

This means we don't have to draft a big power back ! Shrewd moves, I say.

Please Kosar post this video on the Wimbley trade thread and serve athensbuck his lunch. He wants facts about wimbley, here is the video! Hillis is a very very good power back with exceptional hands. Perfect complement to our current backfield. We are going to love him here in cleveland. He is everything that touchdown tommy vardell never was. How bout that highlight at the 2:20 mark of that video! Hillis Trucking over Wimbley and carrying him for 7 yards all the way past the first down marker. Athensbucks like to be childish and say things like owned. Well here is your definition of owned at the 2 20 mark of this video!

Agreed, with Jennings, Harrision, Vickers and Davis we are set at back. I the way I see it, obviously we are not in contention for a few years, so why bring in a top tier back like Peterson to get banged up when we need him to run at 100%. Yea get him seasoned for a year. Backs run down in 5 years, let's wait until we are in contention to draft a top tier back.

Tillis is sweet.

Hillis

Heres a link to a 1700 post thread about Hillis last year. Alot of Bronco fans wanted to see him play more last year and for some reason Mcdaniels didnt really give him a chance even after all the good things he said about him earlier in the season. Even the Media was harrassing him about Hillis later on in the season. Asking why he wasnt being used and if he was in the doghouse. I was hoping he would be used more this upcoming season like Mcdaniels said he would but I guess he lied. It seems that alot of the Hillis lovers like the trade only because we know he wasnt going to be used here and we need a backup qb that can compete with Orton. Anyways I think you guys got a great player and hope he has success there.

The Quinn / Anderson era is officially over.

Praise God.

They both sucked and I hope and prayed we would just flush them both and start over at the position this year, and we have.

I do have to say though, the rabid defense of Brady by the Quinn fans last offseason was the gayest thing I have ever seen on a football message board.

Most of those guys are at Barking Tard now ... but, damn they must be embarrassed by the unadultered gayness they exhibited over the past year.

Z you ain't getting it. Anderson went in the toilet, Quinn is a "never was" Holmgren get forked tongue #1 for saying you need 30 starts to evaluate someone. He damn well better be right about quinn's suckage.

Pretty good deal for the Browns. A decent fullback for Quinn who will be battling it out with Simms for the second spot behind Orton. Gotta be one of the big battles to watch this year.

As long as Brady can get more than 23 yards passing it shouldnt be too much of a battle. I remember in both games Simms played in last year our O was in the negative yards. We had to put in a hurt Orton because he was playing so terrible.

I am just numb today i decided to try and lay off the boards and pay attention to my wife and ya see what hapeens!!!!! I really, really dont like the Wimbley trade, but id say the Quinn trade was fair. We have filled the Qb position and now we have solidified the RB position but now we are down one starting LB???

dude check the roster we are fine at lb you might want to get some depth in later rounds but they are fine. Draft Lineman if you can get the offensive line to protect Jake then imagine how much confidence a project or a franchise qb would have.

Two Biggest concerns left for the offense

1. Not strong enough on right side should use one of your first two picks on a RT.

2. No weapons ava. Payton manning and Drew bress couldn't survive with this recieveing core. Brandon Marshall should of been included in the BQ trade

Not a whole lot of Quinn loving coming from this site, many here pretty much kept that in-check, so much so that those who were goo-goo eyed over Quinn, packed up and left the site.

The Cleveland Browns have always been the focus.

Rich, we are going to start a new tailgate format this season. Instead of having a big tailgate each Home date, we are going to pick approx three dates and have Huge parties on those dates. The inbetween dates are subject to differ. Hope we see you at the sacred land this season.

Keep us posted as to which dates you plan to select so plans can be made....

What are they going to talk about now? Maybe they are going to change their name to neigh-gh-gh-gh-gh-gh-ing hard? Or Winnie-ing hard? That way that can continue their faggotry for Queen.

isn't it obvious? holmgren is leading this trainwreck now, and we just gave up a franchise QB that had a huge upside.

its kinda funny.....where's PGL. i remember a nice little quote from him the day DA was release....

"quinn will be the starter. EAT IT!"

in typical fashion, they are right and the FO is wrong. lots of great football talked over there....

How good is Brady at throwing 1 yard passes? Just wondering because thats what our O seems to do the majority of the time.

He's about 50/50. He likes to delay his release and coulpled with a weak arm and no zip, when the receiver does get the ball at the LOS, he is promptly smacked down. Unless you have Cribbs.

I've been teling all of you fags and 15 year old girls for 3 years now STOP BUYING THE BACKUP QB's JERSEY!!!

Ri-goddamned-diculous

That was one thing about certain Browns fans I couldn't figure out....why buy the jersey of a guy who had done NOTHING in the NFL? I envision a sterling future for quinn in interracial gay porn.

No kiddding! Why don't people buy John Kitna, Charlie Batch, or Chris Painter jerseys? But we can sell 100,00 of our backup QB's jersey?

Quinn sacrificed in the name of progress

By Sean McClelland | Sunday, March 14, 2010, 11:55 PM

So Brady Quinn is gone.

Raise your hand if you’re surprised.

That’s what happens when you turn over the front office and the coaching staff every couple of years. One talent evaluator’s treasure is another’s trash and suddenly a 35-year-old, interception-prone Jake Delhomme starts to look like the answer.

Well, if Delhomme is the answer, I’m really not sure what the question would be. Certainly it can’t be something to the effect of, “Who’s best suited to lead the Browns to the promised land?”

It’s all too reminiscent of when Trent Dilfer was brought in, ostensibly to keep the position warm for Charlie Frye, until Derek Anderson got in the way and started throwing touchdown passes, Dilfer evaporated, Frye was peddled to Seattle and the process of finding the right quarterback continued in perpetuity.

What a week. First Anderson is released, calls the fans “ruthless” on his way out, says they don’t deserve a winner. Then, with the help of a fired Browns media relations director, crafts an apology lest anyone remember him as a bad guy in addition to being a bad quarterback (which I don’t think he is, by the way).

With Anderson run out of town, this might have been a good time to throw some organizational support behind Quinn, but apparently Mike Holmgren had watched too much tape of Quinn’s passes fluttering waywardly for that to happen.

So Quinn, the Golden Domer, the player then-GM Phil Savage moved mountains to obtain in the 2007 draft, was traded Sunday to the Denver Broncos for the hard-running fullback Peyton Hills (you’ll like him, he’s a tough kid) and a couple of draft picks.

Fine, but let’s not pretend we know for sure whether Quinn is capable of quarterbacking an NFL team to victory on a regular basis or even a somewhat-regular basis.

In three seasons, Quinn appeared in 14 games for the team he grew up cheering. He started 12 of those, winning three.

I’m not a math/statistics major, but that hardly seems like a representative sampling.

But sometimes a new start is best for all concerned, you say? Well, often just the opposite is true. Sometimes cleaning house isn’t the right move.

The Browns’ luck being what it is, expect to see Quinn guide the Broncos to the Super Bowl one day soon.

By then, one can only hope the Browns will have succeeded in finding a franchise quarterback of their own.
