    Thursday Night Football

They just mentioned on TNF ...how on a Thursday last year Hoyer led us over the Bungles and it took us to 6-3...doesn't that seem like eons ago?? ugh. So much has changed in a year.
  3. Week 3 was a busy week for Browns starting QB’s (past present and future) with five of them playing, and 4 out of 5 playing in the division. In alphabetical order: D. Anderson (and a shout out to the Carolina QB coach, Browns starting QB, Ken Dorsey) J. Campbell B. Gradkowski B. Hoyer J. Manziel The Browns QB of the Week Award goes to Derek Anderson, who happens to be the best QB in the NFL based on his 119.8 QB efficiency rating. All in all, he has completed 29 out of 40 passes for 310 Yards with 3 TD’s and zero INT. Anderson should be the starter. Not only is he outplaying Cam Newton, but Newton is hurt and should be allowed to heal completely before playing. Newton has rib and ankle injuries and is wearing three layers of rib padding which did not seem to help him much when a 320 pound Steelers Nose Tackle and a 280 pound Defensive End sacked him. He was sacked three times and knocked-down numerous more times. Midway through the first quarter, Newton started limping and it just got worse from there. Rib injuries are the worst. It only hurts when you breathe or when you move. A critical look at Newton shows that he is wincing in pain just to take a deep breath. Anderson started and played the entire game for week one, then came back in the fourth quarter in week three. With 5:38 left in the game and his team down by 24 points, Derek Anderson executed a brilliant 6-play hurry-up offensive drive culminating in a 35 yard TD pass. The entire drive used up 1:39 in clock time. CAR was down by 18 points with 4:01 remaining. When the 2 point conversion failed, the Steelers deployed their on-sides-kick coverage unit, but to their surprise, CAR effectively threw-in-the towel by kicking it away for a touchback. Bruce Gradkowski and the PIT running game were able to mop-up the win. Gradkowski did not attempt a pass. Jason Campbell came in to mop up for CIN with 6:08 left in the game and the score TEN-7 CIN-33. He passed for negative 3 yards in two attempts.

    Hoyer trade rumor

I'm hearing talk that the Texans might be looking to trade for Hoyer. Numbers I've heard so far are a 2nd or 3rd. I'll post more if I hear, or if anyone else does put it on here. Texans new HC has history with Hoyer and is supposedly big on him, so there may actually be something to this.
