Okay kiddies here's your inevitable gun control thread
Erie Dawg replied to Westside Steve's topic in POLITICAL DISCUSSION
I totally understand that, and funds would have to be allocated from local, state and federal levels to achieve it. If child safety is what they or anyone wants. It would need to be administrated so the allocation goes to these measures only. Not a pension assessment or other frivialis activity. Reducing the clip size or age restriction on owning a fire arm isn't going to stop anything. I'm just throwing my thoughts out there on what could be done with what I think would be with the highest success rate. -

My thoughts are why not beef up the security measures in all schools. Metal detectors X number of police officers per X number of students. The only way into the school is through security, have more and better security cameras. Doors that can only be opened if triggered by a emergency alarm or security. I think this is the only way to prevent things like this. -
Thoughts? Definitely a hate crime from what I seen. The libs trying to play it down as kids will be kids.

So if Russian hacking is an outrage
Erie Dawg replied to Westside Steve's topic in POLITICAL DISCUSSION
http://nypost.com/2017/03/06/why-dems-will-regret-a-probe-into-russian-election-hacking/ The investigation of Russian interference in the US election could turn into a big headache for the Democrats. The phrase Be careful what you ask for comes to mind. For months before the presidential election, I explained why the Democrats were making a big mistake by picking Hillary Clinton as their candidate. And I correctly predicted that she would lose. The Democrats didnt listen, and now their party is in shambles. They arent going to listen to me now either about the unintended consequences of an investigation of the Russians, but Im going to explain anyway. One of the reasons I predicted Hillary would lose was that the Russians had hacked her emails along with those of some other Democratic Party higher-ups. A very reliable source told me that the Russians did it, through a proxy and this is the important part that the National Security Agency had hacked the Russians while the Russians were hacking Hillary. So everything the Russians have, the NSA also has. And, as I said back then, the NSA offered those hacked emails including Hillarys to the FBI, which declined the offer. Everyone now agrees with me that the Russians did indeed hack Hillary. In fact, Clinton herself treated this as a fait accompli something that had actually happened when she started to address what was in those emails. She said the 30,000 or so messages were mostly discussions about yoga and daughter Chelseas wedding. That, of course, is absurd. Only Hillary really knows whats in those 30,000 emails because they never came out, although they were supposed to. WikiLeaks, which dumped hundreds of thousands of Democratic emails onto its site, never had one email that came from Hillary or was sent to her. WikiLeaks had promised what it called the fourth phase of email dumps the week before the election, but thats the only promise it didnt keep. So what happened? My guess is that President Obamas stern warning to Vladimir Putin caused the Russian president to stop the promised leak of Hillarys personal emails. Any investigation of the Russian hacking is liable to result in Hillarys emails being read, and perhaps released. The other possibility is even more likely. Putin could get annoyed by the firestorm over his interference in the US election and decide to have the surrogate he had do the hacking release Hillarys emails. Imagine how quickly attention will shift if we suddenly have Hillary s emails about Obama, Bill Clinton, donations to the Clinton Foundation and many other topics. -

Uninvited now equals banned? I guess that's one way to spin it. Anyone else see that time warner cable has dropped CNN from its lineup? Supposedly others are to drop them as well. -

Complaining about voter fraud? I remember Jill Stein and the Hillary camp and numerous Dems complaining about voter fraud not to long ago. And they were so sure of voter fraud they wanted a recount. Remember during the recount that Detroit found out that they had more votes than registered voters? The problems were the worst in Detroit, where discrepancies meant officials couldnt recount votes in 392 precincts, or nearly 60 percent. And two-thirds of those precincts had too many votes. -
How many more years can the US keep up with a negative trade deficit and not just with Mexico? We can't keep spending more and more on imports. In 94 we imported 64 billion a year from Mexico now 235 billion per year. The playing field needs to be leveled.

Didn't say he was kidding. He was talking like he was telling a story, recalling the events. Not saying it as a fact. If a flock of birds fly pass and you say there must have been a hundred birds in that flock I'm not taking you as literally counted all of the birds. Get it?

That's your ringer? Can you honestly not see he was not talking or saying it as a fact?

Since I have only really seen or remember Inaugural speeches since Regan's first term I was curious how the rest of you rate his speech. If you disliked it, fine what parts. It was short, blunt, to the point. I also don't feel it was partisan one way or the other. Some one compared Obama's speech to a foofy Pina colada that was long and drawn out, to Trump's being a shot of whiskey short and to the point.
