Was that George Foreman II, George Foreman III, George Foreman IV, George Foreman V or D'Onta Foreman that played with the Bears last year?

All kidding aside, he doesn't have the wear and tear that took a couple steps away from Kareem Hunt IMO.

I think Kareem's career is on the verge of being over. It took a Chubb injury to get him on a team last year, and it looks like the safety net that is the Browns have moved on this offseason for sure.

I get where you're coming from more than I allowed myself to when we first started talking about it.  As you can see, there are avid Ohio State fans like Dutch and Tia that gave this far better consideration than I did.  There's probably others as well.

Well played on that last sentence above.  We also don't want to be dotting the i if it's an interception. I feel bad for Flacco in the sense his 2 pick 6s in Houston are the final memory of him as a Cleveland Brown.  Having said that, I got the feeling he pleasantly surprised most of us with his razor sharp performances near the end of the regular season when we really needed him to.  Fun memories as a fan...

Here's the thing - and tia hit on it earlier - you aren't wrong for wishing the Browns would have used a sixth round pick on a lottery ticket like Fields. And dog help us if Fields actually reaches his potential in Pittsburgh.

It's more of a situation of tia, ballpeen and myself realizing that with three years left on Watson's contract, coming off a pretty serious injury and all the off-field nonsense that lead up to it, there just were certain things the Browns weren't going to do regarding the QB room, in our opinion. Doesn't mean you're wrong to want it to happen.

Oh wait, I forgot, I never add anything of worth to any of these threads. All I do is add snark and lob personal attacks. Strike everything I wrote above. You are a poopy head. Ahhhh... much better. 🤣

I love the Foreman signing, whether Chubb misses time or they want to ease Chubb back, Foreman is the the north/south between the tackles runner we need who can handle a workload. A big dude at 235lbs.

Seems like a good replacement for Chubb in short yardage/goalline situations.

Sweet! The Browns continue to dominate the offseason once again.

^ Dammit, forgot the pink font.

Actually the Browns went 11-6 last season.

If you were anything but a troll nowadays, you might have actually noticed and enjoyed it.

But hey, keep making the same pink font joke for the millionth time.

Outside of the albatross contract the Watson situation is interesting. If they expect him to be ready why sign Winston, Huntley and still have DTR in the wings? That's a crowded room. Browns getting ready to give Watson the Wilson treatment?

He's coming off a shoulder injury and will shortly just now start throwing.

So instead of having three QBs in off-season camps and the beginning of Training Camp, they can have three plus Watson slowly (hopefully) rounding into shape. And as I've said often, shoulder injuries are tricky. The recovery process isn't always linear with shoulder injuries.

I think they learned their lesson after kind of going half-assed with their QB room at the beginning of last season.

I am not a fan of this deal because as you mentioned his previous history. Feels like a big overpay. Now if this was an incentive laden deal where he could make that much I would be all for. Hopefully he lives up to the contract.

Like, he's not had the production you'd want from a first rounder, but if he catches 50-65 balls at 14.5 yards a clip like he has, I think he's well worth the 5th and 6th rounders the Browns gave up for him.

But not worth that much guaranteed money. But hey, it's not my money and as long as Jimmy keeps paying all these big contracts that get converted into bonuses, apparently this can go on infinitely.

I'd like to see Cooper extended a few years.

He’s gotta be better then Moore

I suppose, but IMO he needs to be much better than Moore to justify that much money for such a so-so start to his career.

The Jeudy extension kind of feels like a "well if we pay him like a stud player, maybe he'll be a stud player" situation, instead of a "this is a fair market deal based on your prior production" situation.

I don't have the football knowledge that you have but what I've seen from Huntley, I think he can beat out both Winston and DTR for the backup role. I would also say that DTR is far from a finished product and he did make some significant strides during the regular season. Would you agree to both of those?

I"m not tia, but I do play him on TV, and I would say that he definitely could beat out DTR, and while I think Winston would beat him out, its not out of the realm of possibility. I think Winston's ceiling is higher than Huntley's, even with his turnover deficiencies. (And to be honest, Flacco has some of the same turnover propensities)

At the end of the day, DTR was a 5th round pick. He's a good kid, but could be very expendable.

I didn't mean to come off that I think his shoulder injury isn't a big issue, I just meant that even if his shoulder fully heals that he would be inclined to take games off for minor injures. Bringing in Huntley is certainly a red flag for me that something is going on with Watson. Maybe future legal problems like someone mentioned or concerns about his rehab. Either way, Huntley was good enough to back up Lamar Jackson, he's good enough to back up Watson. I don't understand bringing him in if you don't want QB's looking over their shoulder (no pun intended).

I might be wrong, but having four QBs during off-season camps and training camp doesn't seem that unique or strange to me. Especially considering the Browns are probably going to ease Watson back. Regarding him sitting with a hangnail or not playing when hurt (but not injured), I don't think there has been any history of that from him. I think he missed one game after he became the starter in 3+ seasons in Houston.

Now, all that being said, if you asked me if I think Watson will ever get back to the 2018-2020 Watson, when he was a top 5 or so QB in the NFL, I'd say no. Deep down, the Browns might be thinking this too.

  10. And I have to just say this...

We are getting all worked up about the Steelers getting....

    JUSTIN FIELDS?

Look, he's a Buckeye and I harbor no I'll will towards him, and the Steelers QB room is definitely better today with Wilson and Fields than it was with their all non-running quarterback trio of Pickett, Rudolph and Trubiskey, but at the end of the day... it's Justin Fields.

I'm starting to get the vibe that they aren't totally convinced that Watson's shoulder will ever be the same, or maybe he's going to be a fully guaranteed 200 million dollar "oops, I've got a hang nail and I'm going to miss 3 weeks" quarterback and they want to be ahead of the curve.

    The guy broke his shoulder.

You might be very well correct about the first part. Shoulder injuries are tricky.

So Watson likes Winston you say?  For what reason do you suppose that is?  Probably because Watson can now enjoy company with another pervert and allow fans someone else to boo.

And it doesn't appear Winston wants to come here to sit on the bench.

Jameis Winston has already made his intentions clear to new teammate Deshaun Watson (msn.com)

I suppose that could be true.

It's possibly similar to how all the pussies congregate over on the Poliboard.

Birds of a feather, I guess.

I sincerely hope I'm wrong about all of this Dutch.  Since I just posted what I did - you know Winston will probably sign his contract on Monday anyway.

As far as I know, if he hasn't officially signed with the Browns its just a technicality at this point. I haven't read anything local that would make me think he won't.

I understand the point.  We will probably draft someone, but nothing says we can't or won't extend any of the mentioned players.  Also, if those players move on, we will have that money to move on to the next batch of rental receivers.

Something tells me we will have some receivers on the team next year.  That comment isn't meant to be a dig at you, rather just a matter of fact.

We now have five picks, after the Jeudy trade, so there's a pretty good chance they might not draft a WR now.

And of Cooper, Jeudy and Moore, I have a hard time believing that at least one won't be brought back, maybe two.

Just out of curiosity, what do they know about Winston that the rest of the planet doesn't already know about him?   Look what they could have had Fields for compared to this crap?  Why go a million miles away to allow Pittsburgh to only give up a 6th round pick for a rising star at QB?  Sorry, I gotta be honest here  but this is Pittsburgh's FO beating our ass bad.  Even worse, he's got a whole career ahead of him.  Here's another Ohio State Buckeye the Browns SHOULD have been interested in.

Now the Browns are going to have to reach on Bo Nix or Joe Milton for 1 of their 5 picks.

Come on Flugs, this isn't that complicated.

The Browns front office isn't bringing in a backup that is going to automatically be more popular than Watson. No one really cares about Winston, or will be dying to see him play.

But Flacco? We saw how popular that run was with Browns fans and him.

Justin Fields? The ex-Ohio State QB in a region that is incredibly pro-Buckeye?

Winston was brought in because Watson likes him AND he's not much of a threat of the fan base clamoring for him.

And I'm confused, why exactly are we forced to use a draft pick on a QB now?

love williams he was a mainstay on my fantasy teams. But his acl

    Obviously dependent upon his recovery...

But I like his upside and ability to complement the existing WR room better than Renfrow, who just feels redundant to me.
