    "random Ohio State droppings"

where the OSU fans post almost exclusively about Michigan

Damn it must suck having to try and wave recruiting victory flags and reach for nonsense NCAA rulings just to have something to celebrate. How the mighty OSU has fallen...

Don't worry, I'm sure Ryan "I'm Tough" Day definitely figured it out this year....

You don't give two shits about the Browns, yet you are a member of a Browns message board. 🤣

All that time you've spent with the Trump flakes on the Poliboard has turned you into one of them. "Oh this is just a witch hunt the NCAA has it out for my beloved Wolverines!"

  2. And with the transfer portal opening today, news has come down that TTUN will receive three years probation for Covid-era infractions, and five coaches involved will get one year show causes. This is just the appetizer of what is to come this year regarding the football program of Ann Arbor. Just the tip... of the iceberg. This has nothing to do with Harbaugh lying to and refusing to cooperate with the NCAA... definitely has nothing to do with Connor Stalions, hacked computers, etc that is the main course of this juicy story.

I don't think it would be a TGI Fridays, so to speak.

I think a lot of people would go to bypass downtown.  You might lose some people who live on the east side, but people on the west or south side would easily go.

I don't live in the area, so I have no clue, how busy is the Barley House as an example on an everyday Saturday night? I can't imagine a flock of people heading downtown.  It's probably full of central city dwellers.

    Honestly, I don't know...

But generally between Guardians, Cavs and Browns games, plus concerts at Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse, and Playhouse Square, downtown seems pretty busy on the weekends.

Would a ballpark village in Brookpark be the same, especially considering the anchor tenant in reality is barely there? Of course, a dome would allow them to try and attract the Final Four, etc...

    I guess we'll see.

   golden flashes.. three HS friends had my 25th birthday party at Ray's Place while attending Kent. nice small college town back 35 years ago. Got back to Toledo 2 days later 🙃. I'd image Ray's never closed a single day during Covid : )

    Oh yes, Ray's Place...

Two of my favorite "Just Missed A Really Good Time" stories center around Ray's.

First, my buddy was out one night and decided to leave Ray's to go to another bar. Minutes later Drew Carey walks in, has the manager shut the doors and everyone already in the bar drank for free on Carey the rest of the night.

Second, I was at the Loft years later and the group I was with piece-meal decided to go down to Ray's. I was one of the last to leave, and there was a melee outside the bar's front door. I decided to leave when the cops rolled up, and minutes later two girls from the group who stuck around to witness the shenanigans come into Ray's and tells us that one of the guys in the fight got tasered by the cops. Damn it, I always wanted to see the Po-Po get all tasery.

Has anyone actually watched Payton Wilson, out of curiosity?   Highlight videos don't count...

I've yet to, so I'm asking an honest question.

It's funny you ask this, because after you shot down my Junior Colson love like some random girl at a Kent bar 20 years ago, I was going to ask you about this guy as a possible option.

  6. Its funny, but we all miss having a first round pick when it comes to draft talk, and the general lack of draft talk the last three years kind of confirms this.

But the few times we had the #1 overall pick kind of lacked a certain sex-appeal to when it was obvious who we were taking, like Myles. (But not the year we took Baker, that draft lead-up was bananas on here. Every day, calfox trying to outdo himself in being a whiny bitch. It was almost impressive. 😉)

Yeah, but it's been so long that I think that the When has become If.

    That's an absolute fair statement.

I have serious doubts that we will ever see the 2018-20 Watson.

He now has to overcome a shoulder injury to his throwing arm, all the noise he hears from his off-the-field allegations, and a questionable fit with Kevin Stefanski.

    I wouldn't bet on it. I hope I'm wrong.

They will.  Cleveland doesn't have the money.  But, the state and country will chip in because they have some money.

Why do you seem so intent to keep the team in the city when the city seems intent on being half assed about things?

Sure, lets keep the team in a half ass stadium, spend a billion dollars, and in ten years have to build a domed stadium.   Small thinkers.

I would prefer they stay downtown, but wouldn't be upset if they did the Brookpark thing.

And this is a private business. Interesting how all you free-market capitalism is king guys get all Bernie Sanders when it comes to these billionaires getting stadiums for their sports teams - stadiums that skyrocket the value of the teams they own.

The Haslams bought the Browns for $1 billion dollars, a team now valued at four times that amount. They had so much money from flipping their RICO-investigated truck stop business that they could buy the Columbus Crew AND buy a big chunk of a NBA team that competes with the Cavaliers.

Let THEM build the palace they want. Let THEM maintain the palace they want.

Now where is cal to defend this guy? After all we had videos of a drunk Baker Mayfield with cops before we drafted him.

Could you imagine the outrage from a certain corner of this message board if say Lamar Jackson had done something like that?

    THE OUTRAGE! 😁

(The absolute best part of that incident is a guy drafted #1 in the NFL could not outrun a cop. Comedy gold, right there.)
