    Baker Mayfield

And this is the stretch run of Baker's second season under Stefanski. It is going to be very interesting to see how the Browns handle Baker's impending free agency. The continued insistence of the coaching staff and Berry that Baker is healthy enough to play almost makes a person think that privately they all have concluded that a lot of the production problems stem from his limitations, and not his injuries.
  2. If they lose tomorrow vs Baltimore then it would appear he won't be going out with a playoff appearance.
  3. Williams seems like another good prospect to add to the list. One way or another, the Browns should have a WR or DLineman fall into their laps if they want to go in either of those directions. And I just saw a mock that has the Steelers QB replacement for Big Ben fall into their laps in Pitt's QB Kenny Pickett. That would be so them.
  4. I hesitated in even mentioning Leal as a potential pick in the first, I definitely do not want the Browns to use a top half of the first round pick on a 340lb DT. I agree, I think Davis slides. Defensive Tackle seems like a position now that you just load up on depth guys instead of using a high pick on. I've seen the Browns take DTackles in the first fairly recently that were reaches already. If you do take a DT that high, the guy better be a plus in the run game and being disruptive in the pass game.
  5. I know Hutchinson is a pipe dream for where the Browns will end up drafting, but is the rest of my list fairly realistic for where I think the Browns will draft (#10-15)?
  6. I know the Browns are still fighting for a playoff spot, but it's the bye week so here's my shortlist of players I would target for the Browns 2022 first round pick: DE Aidan Hutchinson, TTUN, 6-6, 265 DE George Karlaftis, Purdue, 6-4, 275 WR Chris Olave, Ohio State, 6-0, 190 DT DeMarvin Leal, Texas A&M, 6-4, 290 DE David Ojabo, TTUN, 6-5, 250 WR Garrett Wilson, Ohio State, 6-0, 190 I know Hutchinson is going to be off the board by the time the Browns pick (I see the Browns picking between #10-15 overall), but what the hell, a boy can dream. I know this seems like a complete Big Ten homer list, but these guys seem like legit first half of the draft guys, and DLine and WR is a big need for the Browns. How did Leal do this year TexAg? Anybody else have an early wish list for the Browns?

I was actually wondering the same exact thing.
  8. Baker looking as healthy and good as he has in a long time keeps being reported, plus Conklin, Hunt and DPJ back on the field. The stretch run for the AFC North title starts today. Pittsburgh at Cincinnati at 1pm.

According to his profile he was on here three hours ago.

Wasn't he out with an elbow injury?

I think they'll win one, maybe two more games, honestly. But if they were to go 0-5, with or without Baker, it wouldn't shock me.

With the Cincinnati game now looking like a complete outlier for the second half of this season, the Browns have produced 14, 10, 7, 13 and 10 points in the other five games with Baker as QB. 0-5 - WITH Baker as QB - against the remaining schedule, is a distinct possibility.

This really illustrates why Baker is good at play-action or roll-outs, compared to dropping back in the pocket, looking at the defense, making reads, etc. He's a rhythm passer. Fake the ball to the left to Chubb, roll right, rip the ball to Jarvis on a crossing pattern to the same side 12 yards downfield.

That's just outright hurtful. I'm going to have to reconsider my thought that you are a "ray of sunshine" now, nickers.

    Baker Mayfield

I get your point, but he has been struggling with this since really early in the season (Game 3?) and with the exceptions of a few games, has struggled. It makes you wonder why the hell the Browns bothered paying Keenum $6 mill if he apparently can't do better than what Mayfield has done lately. I don't know man. Honestly, I don't see more than one, maybe two wins the rest of the way. This is 2019 all over again.

Oh please. Baker has been producing next to nothing for weeks now, he's obviously injured, and moral victories don't mean shit. All you boomers on here circle jerking to Baker getting the shit kicked out of him and playing like shit in the process for some weird sadomasochist fetish you all have is just plain weird. Get him healthy and ready to roll for 2022.

That's a bold take. I like it, based solely on its boldness.

He has a torn labrum. That isn't getting better without surgery. No amount of rest is helping it.

The wheels have come off this season.

If the Browns lose the next game vs Baltimore, they would fall to 6-7 and pretty much would be eliminated from the AFC title contention. They should shut Baker down and get him that surgery the following day. God forbid he keeps going out there for no reason and get his knee blown out on some suicide mission, and torpedo next season too.

I was listening to 92.3 this morning and the guys brought up Higgins, and Karman started to mention rumors they've heard about him, but thought better of it and didn't elaborate on it. I get the impression that Higgins is a bit of a fuckup behind the scenes, or a pain in the ass, or both. It would explain why he's been picking splinters at times during two different coaching staffs, when the WR room has never been all that talented.

Oh it is very obvious by your consistently well-thought out posts that you do not "dwell on the negatives". You are a ray of sunshine, nickers!

Someone should take him to Cheesecake Factory. He seems very stressed and irritable lately. Maybe one of his trips to C.F. would help relieve him.
