According to Adam Schefter the LA Rams have traded Jared Goff, two future first round picks, and a future third round pick to the Detroit Lions for Matthew Stafford.

Holy cannoli. I can't imagine what LA would have given up for DeShaun Watson.

Yeah, now Watson may be stuck in Texas.

It’s easy for me. Joe Namath is way overrated. I know that stats are way different today but even today a td to int ratio like his would get you benched very quickly. 173 td - 220 int

And his teams are under .500   68-71-4

Had he NOT guarantee victory in SB 3 he wouldn’t be in the HOF

If you look at his season stats. He only had 2 great years and 2 good years.

He never led the league in rating and only led the league in yards 3 times and tds once. He also led the league in ints 4 times

You are mistaken. Joe didn't just make the Hall due to his guaranteed SB win. He did OTHER significant things like wearing fur coats & pantyhose.

    Shame on you!

Just kidding..I agree that he is the most over-rated (just my opinion). NYC media hype.

  3. I'm proud of our Browns' season & their "never give up" attitude. Past Browns' Teams probably would have folded early in this one.

As far as the hit that was a missed call, keep in mind that we had over 1 1/2 minutes left & had Higgins secured that ball with BOTH hands, we're sittin' on 1st & goal from the 1 or 2 yard line & that's what I would imagine Stefanski & Staff stressing to the Team.....Control what YOU can control.

  4. This year, there is SERIOUS competition for limited spots, so Clay's induction may be delayed again. What pisses me off is a number of past inductess far less deserving than Clay, led by good ol' Joe Willie Namath, who made it based on pantyhose, furcoats, ONE brash prediction & the New York media IMHO.

He certainly didn't make it based on his career stats (see below) or the fact he had a LOSING career record.

His teams had an overall record of 68 wins, 71 losses, and four ties, (64–64–4 in 132 starts, and 4–7 in relief).

I couldn't believe Joe Willie got inducted when he did & it still bothers me. Facts don't lie.

50.1% completions, more picks than TDs, & W-L record? But he DID win a Super Bowl....Whoop-de-doo

  5. Our OL just got DOMINATED & playcalling surprised MANY, including me, but I'm not qualified to critique the pros.

Bottom line folks is that we lost, the game is over, & we MUST beat the Steelers to get to the playoffs.

All that being said, we started the season with a new front office, new coaching staff, new offensive & defensive schemes, no training camp, many injuries, & the WORST we can be after this season is 10-6 & no playoffs this year. Not too shabby! I think we are 1-2 years "ahead of schedule" & I'll be fine with that. It's been an exciting, entertaining year.

Now let's kick the Steelers asses....(if Rudolph starts, kick a little MORE than his ass!)

    Mike

  6. The hell with what breaks other teams got....What we have is what we have. Now we have a challenge & an opportunity for innovation/success.

Who knows, but what previously overlooked "superstar" or "plan of attack" may show up today? This is gonna be interesting!

Certainly not your normal game, but I think we have the right folks in charge. Time to overcome adversity.

    GO BROWNS!

Everytime I see Texas  A&M on television or see the colors on the field it reminds me of a business trip I had in 1980 or 1981 when my flights got screwed up in Pittsburgh and changed to PIT ---> DFW  and  DFW --> BRY(?).   Bryan Texas then guaranteed rental car to drive to Hearne, Texas.  Turned into one big mess.

In the DFW airport I and a T A&M plebe I met there did not have guaranteed flights to Bryan.  I left home at 6 am an watched the first half of the CLE/PIT game in PIT together we watched the second half of DAL/WAS game in DFW.   Shows you how long we both were up.  We got not guaranteed stand-by tickets -and- the last flight that night out of DFW.  I remember calling my wife dead tired and telling her either I get that flight or I was checking into the brand new Ramada hotel off in the distance.  The DFW was a brand new airport....the subway didn't have operators are there were still bugs in the system........what could go wrong ???

Sitting there at the bar we made an agreement if his buddys were there and my car wasn't they would take me to Hearne.  If his buddies were long gone and I had a car I'd take him to his dorm, he had to be there before 6 am or he was screwed !   He seemed like a nice young man, I bought him beers and bought us some nice sandwiches at the bar......he was a plebe I was on an expense account.

Well hurrah we got the last two seats #17 and 18 !       It was a wing over prop 17 seat plane 18 if there was no co-pilot at 2 am going into a ferocious thunderstorm....... what could go wong ???   When you climbed up on the plane you had to hunch over until you sat down, and of course no stewardardes just "those bags".  We got the last two seats next to the pilot and where if you pulled the curtain you could look in......kind of neat actually.

As soon as we got up and out of Dallas we went through the worst thunderstorm I've EVER   been in an airplane.   After a few minutes I fell dead asleep until we hit Bryan.

Landed in this dinky little airport rain just stopped place looked closed. His buddies were long gone.   We walked in the only unlocked door and went to the only lit counter the Hertz car rental.  The poor girl was sleeping on the counter.   I signed something girl slid me the keys and said these words I'll never forget "it's the red Ford" and bolted out.

Ok this should be easy, right?   Went out to the lot the door slammed locked behind up we looked over and they were ALL Red Fords !  Plan B immediately. I took off the trunk key gave it to him I kept the main key told him that the first one that pops open we take it !

Well I got it and we were gone.

I then got the best guided tour going on 3 am of the entire Texas A&M campus you could ever ask for.

My only mistake I didn't get that young man's name...... I would love to have it and talk with him now.

(NOTE:  I had to do the last five paragraphs real fast the IV team had walked in the door and they don't wait.  Nice that I got my PICC line put in.  :) )

    PRICELESS! Thanks for  sharing!!

I just can't give the I'm proud of them rhetoric. It looked so easy and looked like we never really had a chance. I'm explicitly tired of not having a defense that I can be proud of, and it just feels like we'll always be who we are, and that's the team that gives up a 3rd and 10 to the backup QB when the game is on the line, or the team that leaves people open running across the field, or the team that see decides to miss kicks in the biggest effing game in literally 20 years.

I'll get to where I'm proud of them later, but right now I'm not. They choked yet again to a team they almost never beat.

I AM proud of them. This is only year 1 of this regime & I believe we are going in the right direction. What has been accomplished within 1 season is amazing. Yes, the "D" needs help & good health, but we are closer than many think.

Even in losing, our Browns never quit, showed they can compete with anyone, earned a ton of respect, & I'm betting the Ravens wouldn't want to meet us again this season.

    Season's not over...GO BROWNS!

We've already exercised our 5th-year option for Njoku at $6mm and change. However, it is not guaranteed unless he's on the roster on March 18, 2021. At that price, I don't see him being around come mid-March.

    I think I'm gonna LOVE March 18, 2021!
