Cleveland Indians Looking Into Changing Name

Sorry Gip... 1) It's Bill Haley & the Comets 2) Elvis did mostly ballads...Chuck Berry is TRULY the King of Rock & Roll!! (my opinion) Mike

Cleveland Indians Looking Into Changing Name

In these times, I am convinced the name will change to one that will NOT relate to Native Americans. How about a name that is inanimate? Maybe "The Cleveland North Coasters" (oops..that may offend Cedar Point LOL). Maybe just the "North Coast", nickname "Coasters". Mike
  3. Make mine a (couple) grilled swiss on rye (Jewish Rye preferred) with two Nathan's dill pickle sandwich slices grilled on it. Just had a couple last Saturday. Add some Lay's chips/Lawson's dip or Snyder's of Berlin BBQ chips & I'm good to go. Mike
  4. mjp28, I didn't change my email. I'll message it to you. Mike

Cleveland Indians Looking Into Changing Name

You're stirring memories! I saw my 1st game in 1953 when I was not quite 7. My favorite players were Bob Feller & Larry Doby. I have VIVID memories of walking to our seats, looking at that PERFECT grass. It was the most beautiful place this young kid had ever seen. I'll never forget that day & I'll aways remember them as my Indians no matter WHAT they name 'em. I just wish Progressive Insurance would get smart & rename the ballpark .."Feller Field" courtesy of Progressive Insurance. IMHO it would be a FAR better name & I think it would actually enhance Progressive's image. Mike

Njoku and agent Rosenhaus demand trade

Woody, have you ever gone to training camp & watched him parade around showing off his 6 pack abs? drop passes? misrun patterns? Take your blinders off! Mike

Njoku and agent Rosenhaus demand trade

If Njoku aka "Mr 6 Pack" goes, color me happy. Talented? Yes he is. A football player? Not in my opinion. I think he's a gutless narcissist. Mike ps: Before training camp? How about before the 4th of July?

Manziel happy to be done with football

Good points & we have to admit, he DID provide a "spark" of sorts in Brownstown which was needed then. Of course, the red flags smothered that "spark" in short order. Somehow we survived & we're far better off that he's gone.........Lesson learned. Mike
  9. I like white onions cooked IN the coney sauce, but RED onions to top 'em. I'm sure we'll have 'em sometime this weekend too.I love hot dogs! Like pizza, I could eat 'em multiple times a week. Enjoy! Mike
  10. I have a whole series of Mr Food cookbooks. Here's a fave of mine with my changes in brown... Old Time Hot Dog Sauce Spruce up your hot dogs with a savory topping that's really yummy and comes together in no time. Our Old Time Hot Dog Sauce is beefy, flavorful, and all-American. It's just what your hot dogs need to take them from ordinary to extraordinary! What You'll Need 1 pound ground beef 1 onion, chopped 1 (15-1/2-ounce) can tomato sauce 2 tablespoons chili powder 1/2 teaspoon cumin 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce 1/4 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon black pepper (I use ONLY fresh coarsely ground black pepper & I double it to 1/2 teaspoon..I also add 1/2 teaspoon of celery salt) 1/2 cup water What to Do In a large skillet over medium heat, sauté ground beef and onion 6 to 8 minutes or until beef is browned, stirring often. Add remaining ingredients, stirring to combine. Bring mixture to a boil, lower heat, and simmer 7 to 10 minutes, or until heated through and well combined, stirring occasionally.

FOOTBALL'S happy Manziel's done! (I'm happy too & I"M one of the idiots who cheered us drafting him! ) Mike

    Cam to The Pats

This will be interesting. Certainly, if healthy & given the freedom to do so, Cam can make things happen. Belichick? He ain't one of (if not THE) greatest for nothing. Mike

What if they cannot play this year...

OH GREAT!! I can see the thread starting now...."Who should Tia kill?" Mike

    Good study of Wilson

Me too. I would LOVE to see us sign Clay III as an experienced, still productive player/mentor. It would be one helluva PR move in Cleveland too. Mike

    Chubb at GA

I followed him in college & WAY preferred Chubb over Sony Michel. Brown's RBs? Chubb needs to play awhile longer, but (IMHO) he's a step above Byner & has the potential to move closer to the Leroy Kelly & Jim Brown level. He's a special RB. Mike

    Football and coronavirus

Thanks for your suggestions. I DO use the rapid whenever we're not tailgating, but the days of crowded rapids may be done for quite some time & could possibly add significantly to the wait time for a train after the games. As far as a longer walk goes, 73 years & bum knees say NO (LOL). I think I'm probably transferring my season tics to my Son in Law. That way, I'll still be able to hit some games with him in Cleveland & enjoy my "at home" tailgates with fried fish, fried turkey, smoked brisket, pulled pork, grilled stuff, & some new recipes. Mike

    Football and coronavirus

I also have serious doubts about a season this year & have since this started. More like no games & season ticket money will be applied to next year's STs (which I expect may damn near double). They're setting the table by letting us know how LOW our ticket prices are. Besides, if they don't raise prices for next year, parking will cost more than a ticket. In my section, we had games at $50.00 per & parking is now $50.00. Mike

    Cleveland Sports Mt. Rushmore (expanded)

All I would change here is Jack Nicklaus instead of Lou Groza, so mine would be: Paul Brown, Jim Brown, Bob Feller, Lebron James, Jack Nicklaus, & Jesse Owens. Mike

Cal Calling TexasAg a Coward and a Liar

Thanks Bill. As we discussed, "perception" can be an awful thing & mine was wrong. I DO appreciate your call(s) & there has been no damage to our friendship. To others...Cal IS a great guy & good friend. I don't discuss politics with anyone, but (IMO) this political forum could go "bye-bye". Mike

  22. Any chocolate I eat MUST be refrigerated or frozen.Peanut m&ms are a favorite, but I have to refrain from peanuts, so it's on to plain m&ms, KitKats,3 Musketeers, Reese Cups, Milky Way Midnights, York P'mint patties, & others. BTW, even though not chocolate, Zagnuts are GREAT refrigerated (& as fragile as Wentz)! Mike
