Browns at 49ers - Official MNF thread

Hi, Browns fans! 😀 Two NFL team on the rise play tonight on primetime, as our 2-2 Cleveland Browns are in the West Coast to play the undefeated, 3-0, and NFC West leading San Francisco 49ers to conclude the Week 5 NFL regular season action, for ESPN's Monday Night Football. Browns are playing their first NFL game at the 49ers Levi's Stadium down south in Santa Clara, CA. Browns move on from their disappointing loss at FirstEnergy Stadium to the Los Angeles Rams. But the 49ers are coming from the Week 4 bye week. Cleveland is playing their second Monday Night Football game in 2019, defeating at the New York Jets 23-3 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey back on September 16. Browns are also appearing in their 31st Monday Night Football appearance since it began on ABC-TV in 1970, with their current 16-14 overall all-time record, including 10-10 at Cleveland, and 6-4 on the road entering tonight. Cleveland and San Francisco have played together ion MNF before, with the Browns defeating the 49ers by the score of 23-13 at Cleveland Municipal Stadium back on September 13, 1993. But the 49ers currently have the most victories on MNF out of all NFL teams entering tonight with 48 victories. However, San Francisco lost their last two MNF games played during the 2018 regular season. Packers defeated the 49ers 33-30 at Lambeau Field back on October 2015, and later the New York Football Giants defeated the 49ers 27-23 at Levi's Stadium, on November 12, 2018. Cleveland is playing a road game at the San Francisco 49ers for the first time in 8 years, in the four-year interdivisional rotation where the AFC North teams play the NFC West teams in 2019. Browns seek their first regular season win at the 49ers for the first time in more than 16 years. Browns last defeated the 49ers in San Francisco back on September 21, 2003. 49ers lead through early in the fourth quarter with four field goals by their kicker Oen Pochman from 38, 44, 46, and 36 yards. But Browns QB Kelly Holcomb scored two touchdowns passes to Andre Davis, from 2 yards and 11 yards, followed by a Phil Dawson PAT, to win 13-12 at Candlestick Park. San Francisco later defeated Cleveland in the recent and last game both teams played at Candlestick Park, losing 20-10 back on October 30, 2011. A Colt McCoy 45 yard pass play to Joshua Cribbs, plus Phil Dawson's PAT and 52-yard FG, was the only points the Browns can score in the loss. Cleveland won the most recent game over San Francisco played at FirstEnergy Stadium four years ago. Browns RB Isaiah Crowell scored two touchdown runs from 1 yard and 3 yards, and Johnny Manziel threw the games only touchdown with his 2-yard pass play to TE Gary Barnidge, along with Travis Coons PAT and 26-yard field goal to complete the game scoring. The game was the last win for Manziel as a Cleveland Brown, finishing 18 for 28 passed competed for 270 yards, 1TD, and 1 INT. Cleveland still leads San Francisco in the all-time regular season series at 12-7-0, in tonight's 20th meeting. Browns also defeated the 49ers 34-14, in both teams first-ever regular season meeting, back on November 12, 1950. A great night for primetime football in the Northern California Bay Area, as sunny and clear skies at 83 degrees, is the local gamecast inside Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, for the 8:15 PM Eastern Standard Time kickoff, along with 0% precipitation, 25% humidity, and northwest winds at 13 miles per hour. Browns and 49ers players, their coaching and team support staffs, may also wear NFL authorized pink apparel and equipment, on the playing field during the progress of tonight's MNF game to support the NFL's annual 'A Crucial Catch' campaign throughout October, with the other NFL teams, to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Lead Referee Jerome Boger leads his NFL officiating crew to supervise the live game action on the playing field between the Browns and 49ers. NO injuries to the Browns and 49ers players, and hope they win their first game at the 49ers in 16 years, and also win their first game at Levi's Stadium in their first visit. 9. Hi, Browns fans!😀 . Our Cleveland Browns are in the prime-time national spotlight, as they host the 2018 NFC Champions Los Angeles Rams for NBC's Sunday Night Football. Rams are making their first regular season visit to Cleveland as the Los Angeles Rams in 30 years, since 1990. Cleveland and the L.A. Rams are only playing their 24th all-time meeting since the Browns entered the NFL back in 1950, Both teams played in the NFL Championship Game in three of their first five games. Browns won the 1950 NFL Championship in the first-ever meeting over the Rams 30-28 in 1950, Rams won the NFL Championship 24-21 in the 1951 game, but the Browns brought back the title in the 1955 Championship Game. Los Angeles actually got their start in pro football in Cleveland, and played as the Cleveland Rams fn the American Football League in rom 1936, and the NFL to 1945. Owner Homer Marshman and Player/coach Damon Wetzel named the team the 'Rams' after the Fordham University Rams. Rams franchise moved to Los Angeles in 1946. Arthur McBride was the original owner when the Browns were an original member of of the All-American Football Conference, and played in the AAFC from 1945 through 1949 before the AAFC folded. Cleveland Browns later joined the NFL, along with the San Francisco 49ers and Baltimore Colts in 1950, A win by the Browns tonight would even the record of both teams to 12-12-0. Browns have not defeated the L.A Rams in Cleveland during the regular season, since defeating the L.A. Rams by the score of 30-17, at Municipal Stadium back on October 26, 1987. Cleveland's last regular season win overall, and only win by the St. Louis Rams, vs. the Rams was their 27-20 road victory at the Trans World Dome in St.Louis back on October 28, 2007. Browns record with the St.Louis Rams is 1-5. Partly cloudy skies at 82 degrees, is the local gamecast inside FirstEnergy Stadium, for the 8:20 Eastern Standard Time kickoff, along with 0% precipitation, 39% humidity, and south/southwest winds at 10 miles per hour. Head Linesman Shawn Brown leads his NFL officiating crew to supervise the live field game action between the Browns and L.A. Rams. 13. Hi, Browns fans. 😀 . Our Cleveland Browns conclude their 2019 NFL preseason schedule as they host the visiting, and winless, Detroit Lions, for the first time at First Energy Energy Stadium in six years. Many of the Browns and Lions fringe and bubble players, especially the drafted and undrafted rookies, and veteran free agents signed during the off-season, will have one more preseason game to bid and earn themselves in to the depth hart for the final regular season roster, and at the same time receive as much individual playing time on the field tonight to impress and be evaluated their coaching and scouting staffs in the sidelines. Cleveland defeated Detroit in both teams recent preseason meeting by the score of 35-17 at Ford Field, finishing their record at 3-1, back at Ford Field on August 25, 2018, and the Browns also won the last preseason home game over the Lions 24-6 at FirstEnergy Stadium, back on August 15, 2013. Sunny and clear skies at 77 degrees is the local gamecast inside FirstEnergy Stadium, for the 7:35 PM Eastern Standard Time kickoff, along, with 10% precipitation, 49% humidity, and southwest winds at 12 miles per hour. NO injuries, and HERE WE GO BROWN-NIES! HERE WE GO! WOOF! WOOF! 14. Hi Browns fans! Our surging Cleveland Browns will try to stay undefeated in the preseason, as they are down south in Florida, to play the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Tonight is also a battle of first-year NFL Head Coaches, the Browns Freddie Kitchens, versus the Buccaneers Bruce Arians. Veterans traditionally will play the longest on the feld through most of the first half during the third preseason game. Cleveland and Tampa Bay are tied in the all-time preseason history with their 5-5 record. Browns last won 13-9 in Tampa during the 2017 preseason. Browns though still leads the all-time regular season series 6-4 after 10 games, but lost the last game in overtime 26-23, back on October 21, 2018. Partly cloudy skies at 85 degrees, feels like 95 degrees, is the local gamecast at Raymond James Stadium, for the 7:35 PM Eastern Standard Time kickoff. NO injuries, win your third straight preseason game, and HERE WE GO BROW-NIES! HERE WE GO! WOOF! WOOF! 15. Hi, Browns fans! 😀 Our 2019 Cleveland Browns has arrived and stayed in Indiana since Tuesday Night this week, to participate in joint team practices with the Indianapolis Colts in preparation for their Week 2 preseason game tonight. Both the Browns and Colts had two joint practices on Wednesday and Thursday at the Grand Park Sports Campus in nearby Westfield. Colts lost at Buffalo 24-16, while the Browns defeated the Redskins 30-10 in last week's Week 1 preseason action. Browns will try to win two games in a row since their undefeated and 4-0 preseason in 2017. Browns won't see, and there has been news all week about Colts QB Andrew Luck, who is sidelined again with a combination of a calf and high ankle sprain. Third-year Colts QB Jacoby Brissett may start the rest of the preseason games, including this afternoon's game vs. the Browns, and there is uncertainty from Colts camp if Luck will be available to start Week 1 of the regular season in September. Colts lead the all-time preseason series 6-2. but the Colts won the last preseason meeting 27-6 back in August 2013. This afternoon's game will be televised and simulcast live, locally in Cleveland on WEWS ABC Newschannel 5, regionally on the Browns Preseason Television Network, and nationally on The NFL Network. Lucas Oil Stadiums roof will be closed, because scattered thunderstorms at 82 degrees is the local gamecast for the 4:05 PM kickoff.
