  1. The dead cap is from guaranteed money. It is split into the number of years, so if a player signs a 5 year 100 million contract with 60 guaranteed, the 12 million a year is on the books whether the player is on the team or not. So essentially the signing bonus stuff is prorated. Here is the breakdown of Antonio Brown. "This $21.12 million is dead money left over from a $19 million signing bonus paid to Brown in 2017, plus a $12.96 million salary conversion paid to Brown in 2018 that was intended to help the Steelers with their salary cap. The $19 million was prorated over five years, and the $12.96 million was prorated over four years. Both have three years of proration remaining, and the Steelers need to account for all of it regardless of whether Brown is on the team next year."

    2016, 2017 Pro Bowl guard T.J. Lang

The crazy thing with that is Brady has consistently taken a pay cut and they still didn't use a lot of money. I wonder if he will restructure again or finally take closer to what he is worth

    2016, 2017 Pro Bowl guard T.J. Lang

I don't think you are understanding what these gentlemen are saying. Yes, the Browns have more money left to spend, but their salary this coming season is already above, so they arent retaining any this year. And you keep saying cut players to get the 30-50. Which players are you in favor of cutting that will get you that money? The Browns look good on paper. Adding Berry AND Lang they may look even better on paper. Guess who looked BY FAR the best on paper last year? Rams and Steelers. Rams added A LOT last offseason, and they did make the SB, and scored 3 points. The Steelers didn't even make the playoffs.

    Kareem Hunt suspended 8 games

From my understanding, and yes I know it's a different example, just using it to loosely connect it, is that it wouldn't have counted as 3rd tag, as last year wasn't accrued. But like I said, I didn't look up the rule. Just what I thought the poster was meaning by his post about accrued. I could certainly be wrong, it has happened once in my life lol jk

    Kareem Hunt suspended 8 games

I think he is not meaning on a rookie deal, but any deal. I don't know the rule, but hes meaning accrue for the 1 year deal. Think Leveon Bell. When he was originally going to come back, he was going to do it right before his play wouldn't have effected his FA. Last year never counted, so Pitt could have done the same thing and not have had the multiplier with tag

    Kareem Hunt suspended 8 games

The NFL gave Mixon nothing, as he wasn't a member when the incident happened. Oklahoma did suspend him for a year though.
  7. He was the earliest of picks in 2nd round, as in 1st in 2nd. In fact, if you look at his selection, 32nd pick would normally be 1st rounder, but Pats lost their pick

    OBJ is a BROWN!!!!!

I get that part, I'm not saying being against someone opinion is wrong, its usually the same ones on the opposite side, and the key is actually arguing about it. But even worse, is when there is the same subject, and someone takes the opposite side. That is what I am speaking of

    OBJ is a BROWN!!!!!

It just doesn't seem genuine to me when things like that occur. And the thing about it isnt, "I did more research and I change my opinion." Its a complete 180, and A LOT of the time it just seems as if it's just opposite of the overwhelming feeling, i.e. causing an argument. Sure we are all prone to change our mind, especially with evidence, but most don't that quickly, and that often. I have seen a couple examples recently. Perriman and hes a good resign and then, he will probably fail and be out of league. Example I can use, and you are the perfect person for it. If you were to say "I love Peppers, hes going to be great. Once traded, "he now sucks."
  10. Gunz41

    Eric Berry?

Then why would the Giants do that? I understand looking at it from a Browns perspective, but there is the other side. Maybe the Giants value Peppers at a 2nd, so that would then be 1st, 2nd, 3rd and Ogbah.

    OBJ is a BROWN!!!!!

I won't quote anyone, but it seems that some just want to be contrary to anything. Just reading through some of the recent threads, BEFORE OBJ was traded, he was a diva. Now that he was traded, never been a diva. His past, good and bad didn't change. His future can.
  12. Gunz41

    Eric Berry?

Not done in a vacuum, they would have wanted/been willing to accept that over Peppers

    OBJ is a BROWN!!!!!

Just because I still fail to see the obsession with unproven Draft picks when compared to proven players, I am listing the 3 picks at #17, #18, #19 and top WR to show. 2018- Derwin James, Jaire Alexander, Leighton Vander Esch. DJ Moore 2017- Jonathan Allen, Adore Jackson, OJ Howard. Zay Jones 2016- Keanu Neal, Ryan Kelly, Shaq Lawson. Will Fuller 2015- Arik Armstead, Marcus Peters, Cam Erving. Nelson Agholor 2014- CJ Mosley, Calvin Pryor, Ja'wuan James. Brandin Cooks 2013- Jarvis Jones, Eric Reid, Justin Pugh. DeAndre Hopkins 2012- Dre Kirkpatrick, Melvin Ingram, Shea Mcclellin. Kendall Wright The point I am making isnt that you cant get great players in the draft, it's that even the best can miss. Everyone loves Dorsey, with good reason, but there has been questions about Corbett since the Zeitler trade. We can always look back and say, "this guy should have been the pick, etc." But they are always picking one they think can help. There were some who love Baker Mayfield now who wanted Darnold, Allen, or Rosen. Here is a couple examples. 2013- Tavon Austin over Hopkins 2014- 12 teams passed on Aaron Donald 2016- Coleman, Docston, Treadwell over Michael Thomas Just a few examples. While we can all think we have a great pick, some just don't work out. Take Gilbert as an example, while he was a TERRIBLE pick, a lot of teams had him high.

Haha. You got that one wrong too. He was always wrong, just not in his head lol

    OBJ is a BROWN!!!!!

Ray Lewis was NOT a 2nd round pick. He was the Ravens 2nd pick in 1st round. Pick 26

    OBJ is a BROWN!!!!!

Is Baking Up Turnovers Ghoolie? He sure never says anything positive. But less nasty talk. But from his talk, I think he couldn't be Ghoolie, more like Bill Polian, Bill Parcells, and Peyton Manning all rolled into one. He knows everything. As for the trade, it has potential to be one of the best trades ever, but also has chance the interrupt the locker room. Hopefully it's a great trade, and OBJ getting out of NY helps his attitude. Certainly a great player who has proven it, as opposed to ANY of these hypothetical draft picks.

    Flowers signing with detroit...

Flowers is a good young player, but I didn't see that lofty of praise.

    Who needs a QB?

While I agree with you that he probably gets this year, he should probably be in one of the other categories as I don't think they are set like the others. I'd say he's like Winston, Flacco, etc. I wouldn't be shocked to see him moved. And having AB there could also be a hindrance to him. Just a thought

    Analhole Brown Goes to Oakland

The bonus is one thing, but I think the real date is draft. Sure they would want him gone by then. I hope he gets traded somewhere for a 7th round pick. Hurts his ego and the Steelers. No, not as bad put together. But all he seems to care about is himself. I think the reason he said no to Buffalo is Allen's passing as opposed to their winning. But his ego is out of whack. I bet if he went to GB, with one of top QBs ever, he wouldn't get 100+ catches, 1300 yards and 15 tds. What would be fitting for him is to go to Baltimore (with Lamar running a lot) or Washington with Colt McCoy, or wherever Bortles ends up (,he would have to start)

    Analhole Brown Goes to Oakland

That is possible, but it sounds as though no team wants to give up a 1st. His talent is certainly 1st, but EVERYTHING else isn't. So if he even goes 2nd round, that will hurt his ego. I know nobody here likes the Squealers, but unless he goes to an ideal situation, he wont produce the same. In my opinion, his attitude is worse than TO, Chad Johnson, etc. Say what you want about TO, he played HARD. May have caused problems, but this guy is BAD

    Analhole Brown Goes to Oakland

Apparently Mr Big Chest is going to announce him new team soon. For someone who thinks THAT highly of themself, he sure is screwing himself. He is looked at horribly, and his ego will take an even bigger hit when the Steelers don't get a 1st. Shows his value is less than an underperforming Amari Cooper. Just think about it, what was the idea on OBJ, 1st, 3rd, 4th and Ogbah. What would Hopkins, Julio, Michael Thomas go for, at least a 1st. Cooks 2 years in a row a 1st. His ego couldn't take not being team MVP, so it will certainly be hurt by not being viewed as worth it. And doesn't bother me one bit

Draft Day Trivia, First round QBs

Yes, I agree with you on the franchise thing, but they are looking at it semantically. In any case, I believe that anything can be pointed out without the need to be harsh with it. And no, you weren't saying it to Ghoolie, it was something about him being a jerk to Squealer fans, and you made a quiz, and then nobody answered and that was your response. Something like that. And I guess you missed my point, while I don't find the question I asked insulting or offensive, the answer shouldn't be to one up the offensive act. It would be to explain why you found it offensive. And sure, that is a lot crueler. I just used that work instead of mean, as I am sure someone could construe telling Ghoolie how he looked was mean. For lack of a better word, I meant cruel as in unnecessary meanness. Not to say you have done this, at least I don't remember it, you can have the same answer with a simple, "no that's wrong" or "you're an idiot." One comes off one way, the other a totally different way.

Draft Day Trivia, First round QBs

I wasn't just speaking about being right on the trivia, so the red doesn't constitute what I meaning. One example I can recall, and I actually agreed with you, was the thing with the Browns moving and being the same or different franchise. You just would not let the other person have their opinion, you just kept on telling him how wrong he was. Facts are facts, but some of the things I have seen aren't just fact based. That is the ones I have an issue with. With trivia, 99% of time it is right or wrong. As for only saying that to me, well this is the 1st one I remember doing, and as I said, I wasn't really trying to do it. The one that I recall, it was something with Ghoolie, maybe Steelers, and when nobody answered, your response was something of the effect of nobody was smart enough to answer them. That just came off arrogant to me. As I said earlier, I enjoy reading them, but don't feel like participating, but there are many reasons why they don't get answered. In all honesty, I think a lot of my issues come from more than you, or this board. It just seems like with a lot of things now days that there is no more real discussion, its always an argument and nasty things. While I honestly didn't see an issue when I asked a pointed question a few weeks ago, you took it way too far in my opinion. Instead of just going with the "I don't find that question right to include my family" your reaction was to insult me. I think we as people can disagree with people, but I don't think you will ever see me be cruel. But it is what it is. You do you Have a good one, God Bless

Draft Day Trivia, First round QBs

Sorry Gipper, but I didn't go back and read the original post, since the others said 1950 in the post. Guess what, after seeing that I WAS WRONG there. But, you might have contact nfl.com with this: 1960 it says Lucas with Bills. And no round with Norton. Oops. I miscounted, so WRONG by me again, I have count of 7 for USC and Cal. Again, going of nfl.com. And from my count, which certainly could be wrong, I have by what is listed, Colts with 9, Redskins with 8.

Draft Day Trivia, First round QBs

No, you put it up, didn't get the answers and then replied they weren't going to answer themselves. You have also on others replied that nobody answered because they weren't smart enough. Again I have NO ISSUE with you doing them. You just shouldn't hop on your high horse the way you do and always try and tell everyone how wrong they are. I have read so many times where you tell everyone how wrong they are on something, yet refuse to see their side (whether I agree or not). You don't just say, well I disagree and this is why, no you say "you are wrong..." Again, as it is the one that sticks in my head, you said something about Clemson being the 1st one to go 15-0. And said how are they the 1st. When pointed out how, instead of saying, "yea I forgot about that one, etc" your answer is "I know how it happened." Honestly, I don't think you are a bad guy, and most of the time I enjoy reading your stuff. Even if I don't answer, I actually like looking at your trivia stuff, but it runs me the wrong way when you seem like you always want to tell people they are wrong definitively, like you are smarter than everyone. At times, you seem to post like you deserve to be more of a fan than someone else, and deserve to be right about everything. To me, even if I think I am right, I try to realize that others have different opinions and are entitled to those. Take care man, God Bless
