    Myles Garrett on COVID-19 List

Definitely out for Sunday. Not sure if he's sick or if he got close to someone, but he wasn't feeling well this week. It appears that he did test positive, so that's not great. Prayers for his health! Damn guys. I'll update this after I get more info. He was pretty much the ONE guy we could not lose.

This is kind of what I was talking about the other day with someone. When has Baker failed to give you what you need in the constructs of the offense? You look at that Raiders game, and that might have actually been one of Baker's best games of the year. He gets a historic low 6 possessions, makes enough throws to win without turning it over, yet his team had a bad day, on both sides of the ball. People said, "Ohhh, he can be a game manager but can't pass his way to a win when the defense lets us down." Wrong, he killed the Bengals in the second game when once again the defense shat bed. Not only THAT, but he was damn near perfect for 3 quarters straight AFTER OBJ blew his knee out. Perfect btw. Then people said," Well, it was against the Bengals. It doesn't count." Yeah, ask the Titans if the Bengals count. Just about whatever our offense needed at the time, Baker delivered. Is he perfect? No. Has he had bad games? Of course. But who the HELL doesn't have bad games? Baker's productivity is directly tied to what's being asked of him. Can he be better? Yes. Will he get better after a season in the same system? I have to believe so. I don't have any stats to support this, but Baker has hit some MONSTER 3rd down conversions this year, and like I keep telling people, he was the top rated red zone passer as of two weeks ago. That's not good enough for people? The question people who don't love Baker need to answer is this: "If not Baker, then what QB do you want?" It gets REAL quiet after that. You want Nick Foles? Jameis Winston? Case Keenum? Andy Dalton? Fans really want some retread back under center? How about a rookie. Anybody feel like going down THAT avenue again? Hmmm? No! Absolutely not! I won't have it! Baker, I crown you the Browns' franchise QB. It is done! Cause you know, people care about what I think. 😂 Happy Thanksgiving! I'm walking into the gym and I'm not happy about it. Btw, this game terrifies me. I've seen way too many bad games played against the Jags. This seems like a total trap game, and we haven't really pissed down our leg against an inferior team, and virtually EVERY franchise screws up at least once.

I hear ya, and I think no matter what we're paying him. Why? Because of all the franchises in the world, ours is the one who suffered most by not having a QB. So no matter what, for right or wrong, Baker is here to stay. Because if he leaves, who the hell is replacing him? People might not like the idea of paying someone just because he's "mediocre"...but in Cleveland that's mighty fine. However, the good news is that Baker is way more than that. You don't set rookie records on accident.

Hehehehe. I'm with ya. But he's got a 2-1 TD to INT ratio and he's winning games in Cleveland. He's also the top rated QB in the red zone (or was two weeks ago). Regardless, he's the real deal, especially when it matters. What's the next hurdle? Beating Pittsburgh this year. He's beaten Baltimore twice, time to beat Pittsburgh when Ben is out there.

I remember being heartbroken for a while when Wentz was tearing it up and we had Kizer or whichever bozo slinging the rock. It seemed bad for a while, it really did, but then the clouds parted and the light shined through! 😂 I'm still pretty excited about Mayfield. Let's just think back to some of the horrendous shit we've had, and have a moment of THANKS for the QB we have now. You think Kizer or Tyrod Taylor is hitting that 3rd and 18 against the Texans? Hell no. You think either of those guys are beating the Bengals after our defense got their ass ripped apart? No. I have a feeling Baker will have a highly efficient but unremarkable game Sunday. Something like 20-27 for 210 yards and a TD or two. Guys who will score: Hunt, Chubb, Bryant, and possibly Hodge if we hit the deep shot. We've been waiting for a month to have good weather, and Stefanski is itching for the vertical passing game.

    Happy Thanksgiving

I'm thankful for second chances, a terrific family, my grouchy dog, and the Browns actually hiring the right coach and making Sundays fun again. The entire time watching football today I couldn't wait to see them! Oh, and my Subaru WRX. I'm thankful for that, too.

    Browns vs. Jaguars Data Points

50% chance of rain now. God I'm so sick of bad weather. Come on weather gods! 😁
  8. I'm an FSU alum and used to go to every game and have blowout tailgate parties. God I miss those days. Got older, don't really drink anymore, my wife hates sports, and my Noles are a dumpster fire. As far as going to pro games, I try and go to a Browns game every year, and I was super excited about going to Jacksonville, but COVID-19 sucked away my fun. Really stinks...would have been a fun trip. Last time I was there Quincy Morgan somehow caught the Hail Mary. 😂

    Browns vs. Jaguars Data Points

I kind of agree with you there. Joe was never a Ray Lewis or Kuechly guy (God I wanted him so badly), but he was a guy who made plays, ya know? Interceptions, fumble recoveries, sacks, or whatever. He was around the ball ALWAYS, and he could cover. That being said, Schobert hasn't really played all that well this season I don't think (I could be wrong). In end, it's a good thing we didn't sign him because of the covid budget crunch next year, so we're still in good shape. We've got to extend Ward, Teller, Chubb, and probably others.

  11. I DON'T like going to Jax without our two best defensive players. I've seen Jax battle their asses off, and even against Pittsburgh they were hanging tough deep into the 3rd. I'm not going so far as to predict a loss, but this has all the makings of being a real headache. That being said, this GOOD weather really favors us this weekend. Jax is literally without 4 of their 5 starting DBs, and at least one of the backups is out. They will be starting an undrafted DB with zero experience, and they are playing a 6th rounder with like 20 snaps. Jax is also without their top pass rusher AND they are last in the league in sacks and total pressures. The last game me and others said we wouldn't be able to run the ball and the pass would largely have to carry us until late. That's exactly what happened, and that's exactly what will happen Sunday. Obviously we're still going to run the ball, but watch out for more empty sets with the quick strike passing game playing a large role in the attack. Why? Because Jax is severely underpowered and they are going to load the box and see if Baker can beat them. It's the smart play, but they don't have the horses in the secondary to stop us. Jarvis has not been a large factor this year, but look for him to make a gigantic statement Sunday. I'm thinking 120 yards and 2 tds. Book it. The other WR who will have a chance at scoring is Hodge. I've been saying for weeks now that Hodge will catch a TD, but the weather hasn't permitted the down field attack. That will change Sunday. Stefanski's offense is predicated on running the ball and taking chunk shots down the field. We haven't been able to do this AS MUCH, but you did get to see it a bit against the Eagles. Both Hodge and Higgins caught 40 yarders, and that's in the rain. They were also wide open, which is what Stefanski is good at. There will be 1-2 deep shots to Hodge Sunday...but can we hit them? We'll be up 17-7 at the half, and then Chubb and Hunt say it's time to go home, and the PAIN arrives. Stuff it down their throat, kill the clock, fly home. Browns - 31 Jags - 17 (BTW, I totally nailed the Eagles prediction and I'm 8-2 on the season. I was wrong about the Raiders game and one other one that escapee me. Bottom line? You can trust the Jiggins) 😁😁😁

Denzel Ward will miss multiple games with a calf strain

Kevin Johnson is the most underrated player in the LEAGUE. You never even hear his name. He just does his shit. Pay him, pay him now. As far as Denzel, it's not good. However, calf strains are funny things. He won't necessarily miss the 4 weeks that Teller did. He CAN be back in weeks, it just depends. I don't remember the injury, which is a good thing. It might be a low grade injury that heals quickly. We better hope so.

    Drunken' Thoughts

Excellent point, Mike. Is the pressure on for Baker? Yeah, I think it is, especially when you consider we play the Jags this weekend. Something else I think people forget...guess who is the top rated passer in the red zone? Yep, Baker Mayfield (as of two weeks ago, this could have changed). Next week we're without Myles Garrett and Denzel Ward. That's our two best defensive players. That doesn't make me feel very good, mainly because we ALWAYS STRUGGLE against the damn Jags. The weather report is MOSTLY good this weekend (finally!) but there is a chance of rain. If the weather is beautiful, we will need Baker Mayfield to own this shit. There will be no excuses, and our defense will not likely play well because we'll have Tavierre Thomas in the game. We need to score points, and opposing defenses are now super loading the box. It's Baker time.

Damn calf injuries don't heal quickly either. They're really annoying.

    Drunken' Thoughts

I've been a Baker apologist all season and I'm not stopping now. Yes, Baker really shit the muffin on that early drive by missing two possible TD throws. The first one would have been a TD if Harrison could have come back for it, but Baker also has to make a much better toss. The second one was just awful. He underthrew the first one, so with the second one he overcorrected and put too much on it. I don't LOVE how we continued to roll Baker out to his weak side because you saw his footwork struggle on the Hooper overthrow and you just have to make the game easier for your QB. That being said, Baker has been extraordinarily accurate rolling out to his weak side, and several of his best throws came from the weak side boot (OBJ Bengals TD, Hodge 42 yarder, etc). Like I said in another post, I don't think people fully understand how well Baker played in the rain Sunday. Baker completed over half of his throws and averaged about 17 yards per completion. If he would have just completed that ONE pass at the goal line, we'd all be saying how well he played. Baker made some absolutely gigantic throws, especially on 3rd down and on 3rd and long. He engineered a 94 yard drive, almost all through the air, and the drive should have scored but Hunt didn't extend the rock at the goal line, and Baker obviously missed the mark. He didn't have a running game for basically the entire game, save the 4th quarter, and although he fumbled, he didn't throw a pick and he made quality reads all day. Does anyone here want Lamar Jackson? Carson Wentz? Gardner Minshew? Daniel Jones? Dwayne Haskins? Hell no. Baker might not be a top 5 QB, but come on people. We of ALL people know what it's like to have shitty QB play, and this ain't it. We're going to lock him up, it's going to be great, and just wait and see what happens when Baker has another year in this system with the same offensive line and the same RBs. Trust the Jiggins.
  16. The Good: We won. Let's look at the obvious and accept it. We're beating bad teams, we're sticking to our formula, and it's working. Baker Mayfield: it's so easy to find the negatives with Baker, and at times I'm guilty of it too, but Baker is converting a large percentage of 3rd downs, and 3rd and longs to boot. Baker hit some impressive intermediate-deep throws today, starting with the gorgeous one to Hodge early. Baker also hit Hooper down the seam, and really engineered a beautiful 94 yard drive that simply stalled at the half yard line. He also hit Higgins on a beautiful ball and Mayfield is starting to prove that he can make big throws in the damn elements. Did he hit them all? No, more on that later. But we don't win this game without Baker. Taki - Christmas come early, but he made the play when he had to and plodded all the way to the end zone. I'd been begging for a defensive TD and I got it. Special assist to Denzel Ward who hit Wentz just in time! Denzel Ward. I mean, he's so good. Hodge - he's on a 1 year deal and we need to sign him NOW. No, he's obviously not OBJ but what he does is still impressive. He blocks like a possessed rhino and he's making difficult catches. He's a special teams ace and the next time we play in good weather, Hodge WILL have a deep touchdown. Chubb/Hunt - very tough sledding early, which might be an understatement. But they took care of the ball, made plays late, and made all WORLD plays late to secure the game yet again. Hunt literally VAULTED over a guy at the goal line, and Chubb used the Hand of God on that one punk and planted him in the ground like a turnip while rampaging down the field. Hunt also made a heady play by recovering the backwards pass that Baker threw late. If Baker completed that pass, it's a touchdown. Vernon - holy shit Batman. He did it with speed, he did it with power, and he did it on the goal line. He literally crumpled the pocket several times including the safety which essentially altered the game. To me, the safety changed the game and it felt like we had it after that. Also, Vernon batted down a screen pass that could've gone for HUGE yards. Like, I didn't see a Brown in sight. (Vernon's game today was better than Clowney's season btw) Cody Parky - don't laugh. He's hit some big kicks and really given us clutch points. The Bad: There's definitely some bad here, but that's OK when ya win! Baker Mayfield: "But Jiggins, you had him under The Good!" Yea, yeah, it's my post so shut it. First and foremost you cannot fumble, and you HAVE to secure the ball. At the time of his fumble, we're up 7-0 and a sack doesn't kill you. Eagles have done jack SHIT on offense and you let them right back in it. Can't have it. Baker also missed two throws that weren't acceptable. They weren't difficult throws, he had time, and he completely blew it. Just cannot miss those opportunities. Against the Eagles, you may get away with it. Against the Ravens and Steelers... Wyatt Teller - boy, this is a shocker! "Bad" might be unfair, but Fletcher beat his ass all game and really hurt us. Teller got some revenge on Hunt's touchdown run though, and really owned that fool. Njoku - another drop. Yawn Mack Wilson - my lord he's awful. Peoples-Jones - this could be unfair, as he didn't do anything wrong, but he scares me to death. He holds it with 1 arm and has almost fumbled twice now at the end of returns. I don't understand why coaches can't address this because the ball is definitely coming out soon. The Lucky: Baker's second fumble towards the end of the game. Refs blew it dead inexplicably and thank God because that drive essentially ended the game. It's a much different feel if refs don't blow that call but I ain't complaining! The Entire Eagles Offense - why? Because Myles Garrett didn't play. He might very well of had 9 sacks and put Wentz in the hospital. Left lots out there, but what a game and it feels great to be 7-3. Go Browns!

    Browns vs. Jaguars Data Points

I was there for the last game before leaving for Baltimore. We lost on a terrible pass interference call at the last second. Lol. It was poetic. However, I was ALSO there for the Quincy Morgan Hail Mary! That shit was one of the best sporting experiences in my life. Punches were thrown, smack was talked, cops were involved, and we ran down the ramps of the stadium like we won the championship.

I still miss him....as does our defense. We'd be really different on D with him.

    Browns vs. Jaguars Data Points

Seems like we never beat this team and we NEVER seem to play well down there. Time for that to change!
  20. jiggins7919

The Good, the Bad, and the Lucky

Mack Wilson might be the worst linebacker in the league. He's so bad that I don't think he'll see a DOWN next year for us. The one thing he did right yesterday was bring the pain to the tight end who was big-league'ing Denzel Ward and Mack gave him the BUSINESS out of bounds.
  21. jiggins7919

The Good, the Bad, and the Lucky

I gotta tell you, I don't remember EVER seeing a linebacker that slow. I was screaming at the TV, "Run faster!" Lmao. The guy was running in slow motion, I swear it. I honestly didn't think he was going to make it. I had a chance to watch the game again. I realize Baker Mayfield messed up missing those early TD tosses, but I don't think people truly understand just how many terrific throws Baker had. On a very early drive we had a 3rd and 10 from our own end zone and Baker slung it across the middle to Hodge for a HUGE 1st down. He had multiple throws that were on the money and he looked infinitely better than Wentz, which doesn't take much. Baker really did have some amazing plays, and I encourage everyone to watch at least the highlights again.
  22. jiggins7919

The Good, the Bad, and the Lucky

I could not tell if it was a busted play or a designed run, lol! I didn't watch it a second time but it worked great! 😂
  23. jiggins7919

The Good, the Bad, and the Lucky

LOL! That's not fair, I put him in the "Good" column too! I praised him. Also, this is 3 weeks in a row (at least) that Baker didn't throw a pick. I'm a Baker apologist, I admit it. I love the guy. I think he can be special. Is he perfect? Of course not. But he's playing some good ball.
  24. jiggins7919

The Good, the Bad, and the Lucky

He did. He was actually just fine, it's the fact that he's almost fumbled twice, almost cost us the Texans game, AND almost screwed us in the Dallas game. Bottom line...he's GOING to screw us. Lol.
