    Ravens/Steelers game postponed

I let the DVR record the first 45-60 minutes of a game before I watch it in order to skip over the commercials and other bullshit. It usually catches up to the live feed late 3rd-early 4th quarter.

**** Official Browns at Jaguars Gameday Thread

Hey, for sure kick the FG and take the points in that situation, Stefanski. You'd be up by 11 with less than 5 minutes to go.
  5. He did dissent, but not for the reason you may be thinking: CHIEF JUSTICE ROBERTS, dissenting: "I would not grant injunctive relief under the present circumstances. There is simply no need to do so. After the Diocese and Agudath Israel filed their applications, the Governor revised the designations of the affected areas. None of the houses of worship identified in the applications is now subject to any fixed numerical restrictions. At these locations, the applicants can hold services with up to 50% of capacity, which is at least as favorable as the relief they currently seek. Numerical capacity limits of 10 and 25 people, depending on the applicable zone, do seem unduly restrictive. And it may well be that such restrictions violate the Free Exercise Clause. It is not necessary, however, for us to rule on that serious and difficult question at this time. The Governor might reinstate the restrictions. But he also might not. And it is a significant matter to override determinations made by public health officials concerning what is necessary for public safety in the midst of a deadly pandemic. If the Governor does reinstate the numerical restrictions the applicants can return to this Court, and we could act quickly on their renewed applications. As things now stand, however, the applicants have not demonstrated their entitlement to “the extraordinary remedy of injunction.”

True, but that kinda came across as meaning that Pfizer didn't take any US money, so I wanted to clear the air. In your defense, no pharmaceutical company, to my knowledge, received their vaccine funding solely from the US or Operation Warp Speed either, so it's a bit foolish to call any vaccine the "Trump" vaccine.

Full disclosure upfront: I work in the pharmaceutical industry for a company that is actively working on a Covid-19 vaccine, so that is where I'm getting the following insights from: Every pharmaceutical company working on a vaccine is receiving funding from the government: Not to rain on Pfizer's patriotic parade, but they're not being entirely truthful when they say they didn't take government money for vaccine development. It is true that Pfizer didn't accept any US funding for vaccine development, with development being the operative word. They did, however, receive nearly $2 billion from Operation Warp Speed funding as an advance payment for 100 million doses of vaccine. Also, Pfizer probably didn't need development funding from the US since they've already received nearly $400 million from Germany alone and another $120 million from the EU as a whole for vaccine development. To be more accurate, BioNTech - the company that Pfizer is partnered with in making the vaccine - received this funding, but you'd be stretching the truth till it breaks to say they received no funding.

  11. I don't think it's necessarily frivolous. I think it's pretty apparent that there has been impropriety in several states in this election that wouldn't be investigated without lawsuits. To what degree that these incidents have affected the results remains to be seen, but I think it's worth bringing them to light and scrutinizing them. Even if Biden comes out on top after the legalities have concluded, it will go a long way in legitimizing the results. As we currently stand, there is that cloud of doubt hanging over the election results and that is never good for a democracy.

    America to Trump

It's all good, bruh. I voted for Gary Johnson in 2016 and I still don't know what Aleppo is.

    America to Trump

Did you at least pick up your free jar of hummus and your mood crystal necklace at the exit poll after pulling the lever for Jorgenson?
  15. Got to admit, this is a real disappointing head-scratcher to me. Especially with how porous our defense has been over the last 3-4 games, I'm pretty disappointed that we didn't make any moves to shore it up.

Trump privately discussing 2024 run if he loses

If a Trump is going to run in 2024, at least let it be Don Jr. He has similar political views as Sr., but he's younger and has a sharper mind. Plus, I think he's a bit better, personality-wise.

Trump privately discussing 2024 run if he loses

Trump will be 78 in 2024 if he runs, which is older than Biden currently is in 2020. Baby boomers are just hell-bent into dragging this country into the Great Beyond with them, aren't they?

All jokes aside, mods: please move this to the pol board if you feel it belongs there, but it's one of those weird articles that I thought could go in either thread

    Personal covid stories

I posted this on another thread somewhere, but I forget which one. I work for a large biotech company here in Ohio that is paying for COVID tests for it's employees. I took the free COVID antibody test last week and found out that I had contracted COVID sometime within the last 4-6 months without even knowing it. I never showed any symptoms, nor did anyone else in my family and friends group. I guess I'm in the lucky majority of people who get COVID and are asymptomatic.
  21. After 2016, it's was years of "Russia interfered in our election!" or "we can't trust the results of the election due to Putin!" etc... Now, in 2020, our election system is suddenly Russian proof? 🤔

    AFC Playoff Picture

Realistically, it's highly unlikely the Browns are making it to the playoffs via the divisional championship route. And with the wins by Miami and LA Raiders today, the wildcard picture is looking a bit crowded. Browns are going to have to play lights out on the back 9 of this season to earn a wildcard berth.
