Does anyone here actually agree with banning this book from an 8th grade class?

Not sure when all these “constitutionalists” forgot the 1st Amendment, “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances”. Congress hasn’t made a law prohibiting this speech.

I’d hope the highest the court in the land would represent the people that they preside over. And that would include race and sex. You aren’t being put before Congress as a nominee with qualifications.

I don’t really view it as a Democrat plan. I think this is a power play by the Democrats but I don’t believe the Republicans would bring it back when they get the power. I also believe the Republicans won’t hesitate to do it in the future and their supporters will find a way to justify it.
Political hypocrisy isn’t party specific.

I do not want an open door policy by any stretch of the imagination. Just a reasoned approach with dealing with the various cohorts. “Build the Wall” is nonsense but building a border wall along with, many, many other initiatives may be a very good idea

No issue with everyone in this country getting healthcare they need. I’d like to see an overhaul of our entire healthcare system and a reasoned approach to improving immigration.
