    Antonio Callaway

Seems to be an unstable and bad guy but could have stole some real talent later in the draft, time will tell.

    Lamar Jackson to the Ravens

Stats aren't as relevant as they once were since systems and leagues are so different. If stats and film were the entire story we would be partying in the streets over Baker Mayfield being a Brown not crossing our fingers.

No one can, he's not as good as Pryor was.

Would love to see him fall to 64

Absolutely not. I've been saying that DB is one of the hardest positions to play based on league rules and physical superiority of many WRs. Many in here supported Gilbert saying that DB was a hard position to learn in year one and then in year 2 crickets. I don't value DBs as high as other defensive players due to the previously mentioned reasons and that they typically have a very short shelf life at an elite level.

    Orlando Brown

Really Bad showing at the combine. I would question his work ethic but thought, from the Browns perspective, if you take a chance on Callaway you could on Zeus Jr.

Absolutely but seeing how a player goes when everything is not going his way says a lot. There are many QBs that look great when everything is going their way. The QB of the Browns is going to have some rough sledding.

Are we gonna get an influx of Sooner fans now?

    Mayfield is no Brees

I’ll take it one step further. I don’t think Darnold, Allen, Rosen or Mayfield have shown on the field last year that they deserve to be the number 1 pick. They all have glaring flaws. The Cleveland Browns selected a QB to appease fans and because Sashi & Co, along with NFL pundits, sold this year as the year of the QB I’m 2016. At this point Tyrod Taylor is the best QB on this roster and may very well be so in week 8. The problem is this team is going to stink again so everyone will be clamoring for Mayfield when we are 2-6. I would’ve drafted Barkley #1 and whomever was left out of the 4 at 4. Now they’ve got their QB and even the rosiest of sunshine pumpers will have to be negative when he stinks up the joint.

    Austin Corbett

Wish they would’ve started the draft that way.

Don’t know much about Corbett but would like to see as much OL talent as we can accumulate. If Mayfield is the future he definitely will need protection.

That’s if Myles can stay healthy and motivated and I’m not holding my breath on either. If the Browns are certain of that I would’ve taken Nelson at 4. Even with a Thomas last year the O Line struggled and if you can’t control the lines of scrimmage it doesn’t really matter.

Ok there is 5 out of 32 teams. My point with this whole Ward pick is you never hear “man this team is a shut down DB away” or “I think the Colts should trade up to take a shut down DB”. I don’t disagree that a strong defensive backfield is a good idea but the are bigger needs and more effective use of assets.

You miss my point or maybe I was unclear. At any rate positions in football can be ranked by importance. That importance fluctuates depending on what type of game is being played. For the most part through the history of the NFL the QB is the most important but other positions eb and flow. DB is has become less and less a position of great affect since the rules have changed into a pass friendly league and WR have become more physically imposing. When the Browns had an All-Pro DB in Haden it didn’t mean much in terms of stopping the other team. I would argue that Donald, or any other dominant defensive end, would make more of a difference in disrupting the other teams game plan than a “shut down” corner. I’d also add those “shut down” corners don’t seem to last very long these days and teams aren’t willing to pay to keep them so I’d rate the importance of adding a possible shutdown corner as not as high as a possible dominant DE

Tour in all sincerity off of the top of your head please list the guys who have been “shutdown” corners each of the past 5 years. And by that I mean one guy being a shutdown corner each year not this guy was in 2015 but not in 2017. I’m also curious as to the teams they played for. So for example Josh Norman Carolina, Washington

I’m sorry but you’ve got to hear it. Against Kansas, Texas Tech, WVU, OK St, TCU, Baylor he basically stood back in the pocket and waited for guys to get open. He rarely put in into windows or made anticipated throws. To top it all off the team rushed for 220 a game. He was playing a video game. You want to truly evaluate Baker look at the six losses.

Watching the Hue & Dorsey presser sealed it for me. These guys are so friggin clueless. I watched all but 2 OU games with Baker at QB and anyone who did would know two really important things. First Lincoln Riley’s offense is friggin scary. Second OU’s offensive line was one of the tops in the country and their running attack was equally as good. They hung 45 on a good Georgia defense in the playoff. Baker was a winner because he played at OU for a great coach and with extremely talented players. Of all the QB candidates Baker was on the best offense by far so that’s why you justify the pick. WTF

There are many in here defending the pick. I think many of the sunshine pumpers called Joe Haden a shutdown corner, how many games did we win with him and how long was his shelf life? The rules in the NFL are designed to allow the passing game to flourish and when you can’t pressure the QB it really doesn’t matter how good the DBs are. And if I’m not mistaken Baker threw for 330 against OSU’s defense.
