#6 - Ron Brown

Ahh...good ole Charlie White.....our first round non performing heisman winning druggie....WEEEEEEEE.....

Glad THAT never happened again.....

Will never forget being about 11 or so years old and being at training camp....a rookie Charlie White coming off the practice field....me and some other kids went up to him asking for his autograph.... his response "I don't sign no autographs"...

8 is Cardinals....Chicago?

NO. The question was "what was the name of the original NFL franchise in St. Louis". The Cards were originally in Chicago, moved to St. L.....But they were not original to St. Louis. Hint: this franchise is defunct.

4 = Frank Ryan?

NO. Ryan came from the Rams....but he was always like a backup and never led the team in passing. Around the same time the Rams took Roman Gabriel in the draft and put their eggs in his basket, making Ryan expendable trade bait. Good for the Browns!

It was Bob Hope.....a great football fan, btw.....remember his All American TV specials?....

Back in the 70's, my cousin was an All American for Ohio State and seeing him on the Bob Hope special was the greatest!!!

It was Bob Hope (but, you are just now coming up with that?)

B. What is the head to head postseason record?

Browns 2 wins, Rams 1 win

Exactly 1. In 1945 they were 9-1, their only winning season, won the NFL title, then shipped off to LA

3. The Rams have retired the number of one player that played with the Cleveland Rams. What player and what number?

Bob Waterfield #7. Led the Rams to that 1945 title.

4. What player that led the Rams in passing one year also played for the Browns?

Austin Davis..........yea, baby.

8. The Cleveland Rams, ironically, were in the same division as the original St. Louis NFL franchise. What was the name of that team?

The St. Louis Gunners

9. What true American icon personality was at one time a part owner of the Rams?

Bob Hope bought a piece of the LA Rams win 1947.....and so did Bing Crosby. They both sold that out in 1962. Hope had bought a piece of the Indians as well and owned that almost until he died. He only sold it I think when Dick Jacobs took over....and maybe not even then.

10. What was the one important condition set by the NFL to allow the Rams to relocate to the west coast and LA? (besides bringing in money?)

They were required to integrate. Thus in 1946 they signed Woody Strode and Kenny Washington.

11. St. Louis was actually Georgia Frontiere's second choice when it came do to the decision to move her team. What city was her first choice?

Baltimore!

12. The Rams play in the Edward Jones Dome. What was the original name of that building?

The TWA Dome.

The answer is the Patriots....The builders of the then TWA Dome considered the Patriots a lock to move the team to St Louis, and installed red seats beacause of this belief..and they ARE STILL THERE!

Interesting.....and that just shows you how much of a shit franchise the Patriots were before Parcells/Kraft/Belichick/Brady got there.

They had half empty houses that they played in front of. Post Brady.....it will probably go back to that.

Despite their recent success, I think that football is actually the #4 sport in the Boston area.
