So the main excuse not just in this reply but others are all Free Agents suck dick will end up like LeCharles Bentley and we should not overpay for possible bust like haynseworth.... So we shouldn't add an IMPACT player at all to help beef a posistion we sorely lack and get burnt up on consistently? nonsense

Cleveland officals and most of fans here can't evalute players either (TBH no one can) which makes drafting all hits IMPOSSIBLE thus my conclusion you should sign free agents i'm not saying every single one but even 1 a year for the next 3 years so when you are a few years down the road you have some SuperStar level players and your up and coming players like T.J Joe Colt Peyton have a few other studs around them and what you drafted over the course of those years and wala you have a stud team, i don't see the steelers or the ravens running the AFC in 2014 i see the Browns taking that title for the next few years but if you believe free agency does not help at all you have a problem.

You're on for any amount of bucks you want to name Haynesworth and Stinko won't put up those numbers- they've yet to come close in their careers. For the record, Haynesworth's best is 8.5 sacks, and Stinko's done 10 TDs. They're both over 30, and they both were mediocre last year. You can now remove your foot from your mouth before you spew more garbage.

The Jets can go after (and failed) getting a guy like Asomugha exactly because they felt they're one or two players away. FYI, the Browns are NOT. So let's go and bring in a (guys) like that and not win any more games so we can bring in more guys like that? Is that what you're saying?

And (I think) thanks for making my point. Johnson and Haynesworth are aging vets that want to go Ring Chasing, and were willing to take a "good team" discount from the Patriots. If you want to know exactly what i would've did if i was Holgreen and Heckert, I would've looked at and knew before the lockout ended who my wishlist was top to bottom, when the lockout ended i would've had them come in for a dinner and see where our ties could go, during this time i would also be looking at players teams have let go to see if any our our glaring holes could be adressed, After whiddling down my list i would offer great multiyear packages to Impact players i think would improve the browns and in the end hopefully bring two of them to our team.

I would also be looking at trades throughout the league switching to new schemes means i need players to match the sets i want to run, so i wanna be on the phone seeing what is out there as pogie bait and seeing if i could offer anything to bring in the players i want.


When i sit and talk to these players i want to market the Browns and the city of Cleveland i would tell these players we are building a championship contender we want rings in Cleveland we want the best of the best to come here and show off their skills and help us win. basically i would promote a winning attitude.


But to be dead honest i truly believe Holgreen is sitting in berea or elsewhere very content not to make any moves at all this season or even next, and when he speaks to the media he says we're a rebuilding team etc and so on and does not REPRESENT a winning attitude for our City and i think its terrible.


If you think we're trying to make moves and offers via FA or trades that must mean every single team and player has rejected our offers.... keep offering those shitty contracts they attract the best in the league!

Last year about this time I came to this board and said I was fed up with this team them and was giving 1 more season pf my lifelong loyalty or I would give up on them if there wasn't finally some kind of improvement. The sentiment from most of the board was that I was somehow gay for being tired of losing but that's another story. I've stuck with the Browns because I do see some improvement. Most likely would have never given up on them anyway!

I'm sure Heckert and Holmgren have had a wishlist since coming to Cleveland. You're a fool if you think otherwise. Just because you have a wishlist, though, doesn't mean you're going to get what's on it. From all reports, the Browns have been in discussions with many FA's. Unfortunately, those FA's have a choice in where they go. They aren't all just automatically thrown on the Browns. Sorry to inform you, but that's how FA works.

What constititues a "great multiyear package" to you? I'm talking figures. Money. Cash. What's the contract you'd offer them?

Telling these guys Cleveland wants rings is just ridiculous. I don't think there's a team in the NFL that's not trying to get a ring. Unfortunately for us, if a FA simply takes a look at our record from the past decade, they'd be inclined to turn around and get right back on the plane.
