Hi, everyone. First timer here.
Question: how early do we need to arrive at the muni lot to get a decent spot? There's some concern in our group that with the new 7am rule, there will be a huge line for spots and we need to get in that line early in the morning. Is this true?

Well, we don't "gate" in the Muni....but, I have some friends who do and walked down there last week to say hello before I joined this fine group in the flats about 8:45 AM.
I was told the east lot of the Muni opened at 4AM for all the campers, and they decided to open the lot at 6am since a line was forming on the shoreway.
I got down there about 7:20 AM, and there was no line, and there really weren't all that many open spots to be had.....maybe 4-5 hundred.....that sounds like a lot, but considering the size of the lot, it really isn't. A spot here, a spot there, with many cars cruising (stop and go at best) to find a spot.
But remember, that was the home opener.....it fills fast for that.
