Westside Steve Posted September 3, 2014 Report Share Posted September 3, 2014 Just watching the Fox 8 News cast and apparently they are about to put the traffic camera issue on the ballot. As soon as that happens, the traffic cameras will be voted down. What I found hilarious was the disingenuous proselytizing on both sides. I completely understand why I would not want a traffic camera. Because if I ran the light I would be busted and have to pay a fine. The lawmakers argue that it's not about revenue but about safety. The citizens argue that it is about safety and that its more dangerous to have the cameras because paranoia causes more quick stops which result in more rear-end accidents. I found it hilarious listening to both sides prattle on with neither one being honest. Of course it's about revenue and of course drivers want the opportunity to sneak by a traffic offense. They can see you from place to place, and you clobbered in an intersection, or flip the green light into red so they can force you into running a red light, then they can pull you over... who is "they" you ask?
