The Gipper
It has been speculated highly that three defensive backs from Ohio State may be picked in the first round of the draft: Marcus Lattimore, Malik Hooker, and Gareon Conley. If that happens, it will be a first that 3 DBs are taken from one school in round one of the draft. In the past, several times there have been 2 DBs from the same school chosen in round one, but never 3. Here are the times 2 were taken: 1951 Ken Konz and Ebert Van Buren LSU 1971 Jack Tatum and William Anderson Ohio St. 1980 Dennis Hatchett and Johnnie Johnson Texas 1981 Dennis Smith and Ronnie Lott USC 2002 Mike Rumph and Ed Reed Miami Fla. 2007 Aaron Ross and Michael Griffin Texas 2012 Mark Barron and Dre Kirkpatrick Alabama 2016 Keanu Neal and Vernon Hargreaves Florida
mjp28
That is kind of amazing even in a somewhat off year for OHIO STATE.
The Gipper
That is kind of amazing even in a somewhat off year for OHIO STATE. They made the Field of Four, so I don't know how much of an off year it was. Hell, losing that kind of apparent talent could mean this coming year is the "off year". TexasAg1969
I think they all go in the first 15 or less.

Outside of the DBs and a few others they shouldn't lose much in the draft. They should be good in 2017.
The Gipper
Here are the Ohio State potential prospects: 5 *Marshon Lattimore CB 1 Ohio State rSo 6-0 193 1 7 *Malik Hooker FS 1 Ohio State rSo 6-1 206 1 25 *Gareon Conley CB 3 Ohio State rJr 6-0 195 1 45 *Curtis Samuel WR 4 Ohio State Jr 5-11 196 2 46 *Raekwon McMillan ILB 3 Ohio State Jr 6-2 240 2 74 Pat Elflein C 1 Ohio State rSr 6-3 303 2-3 177 *Noah Brown WR 24 Ohio State rSo 6-2 222 5 362 Cameron Johnston P 4 Ohio State Sr 5-11 194 –– 580 Brionte Dunn RB 44 Ohio State rSr 6-0 214 –– 710 Dontre Wilson WR 91 Ohio State Sr 5-10 183 –– 762 Corey Smith WR 102 Ohio State rSr 6-0 183 –– Those top 6 will get drafted fairly early. Brown should be taken late. When he first started I thought Dontre Wilson would be the shit. Apparently not since he is ranked #710. Though I still think he has some kick return skills. Brionte Dunn? Oi!! He came out of GlenOak. How long has this guy been playing? He was like a Junior or senior when my daughter was cheerleading as a sophomore in high school, and Wadsworth played GlenOak in the state playoffs. She has already graduated, and he is just now getting done? When he was recruited people thought he would be the next Eddie George, with his strong, staight up style of running. Guess not. He barely got a peep.
mjp28
Outside of the top 3 pretty much an average draft for a football factory school.
The Gipper
Outside of the top 3 pretty much an average draft for a football factory school. If 5-6 players go in the first 3 rounds, that is pretty good production for a "factory". I mean, look what they did last year. I think they got more players drafted from one school than any other in history (or at least in the 7 round draft era) I think Miami had it at one time. Here it is, most players taken from one school in a single draft: YEAR SCHOOL PICKS 1984 Texas 17 1946 Notre Dame 16 1 1953 USC 15 1945 Notre Dame 15 1975 USC 14 2004 Ohio State 14 1977 USC 13 1987 Penn State 13 1988 Oklahoma 13 1971 Ohio State 13 1975 Ohio State 13 1944 Notre Dame 13 1950 Minnesota 13 1944 USC 12 1974 UCLA 12 1982 Texas 12 1944 Texas 12 1981 Pittsburgh 12 2016 Ohio State 12 1954 Notre Dame 12 1950 Notre Dame 12 1975 Nebraska 12 1988 Miami (FL) 12 1952 Maryland 12 1976 Colorado 12 The NFL draft went to 7 rounds in 1993. Note that Ohio State actually has the two highest number of players picked in any given year since then: 2004 with 14. Last year with 12. Miami had 11 in 2002 to hold the mark for a couple of years. In 1984 when Texas had 17 players taken there were 12 rounds.
The Gipper
Miami, 2004 The 2004 ‘Canes set an NFL record that still stands: Six first-round picks, a group that included the late, great Sean Taylor

The Gipper
Just so long as we don't take them all... Though....we COULD use them all. They won't take all these OSU guys...but as I said before, just like on WRs last year, I think they carboload on DBs this year, if not right off the top, a bit later.
