The last time I travelled the Sunshine Skyway Bridge I had to stop and let my ex-wife take the helm. I seem to have developed acrophobia, prolly from experiencing a lot of heights while on the job.

I suspect the empire state building is up there?

No....I don't think many have happened there. It you have ever been, there is maybe a 10 foot iron rail that curves back towards the building out on the observation deck. It would take some serious effort to shimmy up that and pull yourself up and over.

Pulling somebody down would be pretty easy. There are employed security who station in ways all 4 walls are covered by 3-4 people at all times. Some hang out in the corners....some walk the middle

I was denied my opportunity to see for myself the logistics of which you speak. I was planning a trip to NYC, and had prepaid for tickets to go up the Empire State Building....but alas I could not go. Why? My trip to NYC was scheduled Sept. 18, 2001.

I couldn't go up the Empire State Building. I couldn't go out to the Statue of Liberty. So I have yet to get to those two locales.

But one place I did go some years before: to the Top of the World Trade Center.

the tappan zee bridge which is like 3 miles away from me is the fave bridge to jump off of as NYer. they end up floating to the boat docks in tarrytown or even more upstream. i guess the hudson is a bitch with the currents even though people jet ski and dump their shit all summer long. usually the big mishaps are with the drunken boat captains.

i want to know how these base jumpers avoid security, jump over fences, walk out on a extruding metal rung and jump off high rises that are well known or under construction with no probs and these places are supposed to have 24/7 security.

just goes to show that if someone wants to get through security with a plan, there's really no stopping them.

sad state of affairs that no one has learned their lesson yet as in if i were head of security i'd do................

What is that bridge over there that just like floats on the water on like big pontoons. I think I crossed it once bypassing NYC to get to Connecticut.
