I'd have been ok with Watkins or Evans at 4, didn't get Gilbert at 8 and still don't. I've been told that corner is a difficult position to pick up in the NFL, funny quarterback isn't as tough, since we are starting Manziel and odd Fuller has adjusted pretty well for the Bears.

what's to understand? the most important position on the defense now because of the 'pass-happy' league has to be someone that covers the wrs correct?

We also could've had Tom Brady, Aaron Rogers and Clay Matthews as well.............. Hindsight is a bitchin draft aid.

We could have had a lot more than that- if you want to play the 20\20 hindsight game.

DB isn't nearly as complicated as QB and all 3 first round picks are playing significant minutes. They just aren't willing to admit that Gilbert isn't playing at the level he should be, for goodness sake (Christmas Pun) they seem higher on Desir.

agree to disagree then. gilbert is as green as JF but i think it was the best pick when trading down.

you really think farmer thought that q'shoe and desir were better players when pulling the draft card?

and why QB? when the rest of the team isn't built yet? seattle drafted a QB when they didn't have their team built from side to side?

tell me what position seattle didn't have set before drafting qb...and then tell me why we should have drafted manziel?

after watching the pre-draft highlights of both evans and manziel a lot of those manziel 'big plays' were just tossing the ball up to evans who is basically a redwood receiver amongst some some apple tree dbs.

No no no. Its been proven by our resident john boys that those chuck ups only happens twice in their careers. Everything else was pure skill and athleticism.

I wanted Evans, not manziel, jump ball receivers are a hot commodity in today's flag haply NFL. I didn't want clowney, haynesworth pt 2 (well, Haynesworth was actually good in the NFL before he decided to be a lazy ass).

That being said, I've always been a Busta fan.... Even when he was the most penalized player in the NFL lol

I hated Skrine last year. He either got burned or flagged on a regular bases. between him and weeden I lost my voice a couple of times.

Skrine is a really scrappy player....I like him

I do remember considering him a weakness, but he was better last year than the year before.....and a LOT better this year.....

So, for me, the best part is he's obviously a student of the game and someone who's working hard to get better....Im sure he'll have a solid career and be a good player.

With Williams, Gilbert AND Desir waiting in the wings, we should be strong at CB for a long time!!!! :)

It's easy to play Monday Morning draft GM because EVERYONE thought Clowney was the 2nd coming of JJ Watt.

Everyone thought Greg Robinson would be a fucking star and he's struggled big time.

The problem with using the universal "everyone" is that it is rarely, if ever, true.

Going O-fer-two, as WW did here, is not a good foundation for any argument that follows.

I wouldn't have drafted Manziel, probably would have stayed put and taken a WR and rode Hoyer til the end of this year and then looked at QB in 2015 either in FA or stay with Hoyer one more year and draft a guy.

The Bucanners took Evans at number 5. And this is not hindsight. I tracked the draft for six weeks and the majority said Evans at 4 and Carr at 26. Not even close but then this is the Browns org.

Watkins was the slam dunk #1 coming into the draft, then everyone else. Evans was with everyone else and one that was debated along with Beckham, Bejamin, Woods, etc, as to who was best. There was no consensus on these guys. Personally, I liked Benjamin and Evans simply because they were the taller ones.

And Evans was picked #7. K-Mack was #5.
