Would You Trade JF?

Obviously, this is an extremely hypothetical situation.

Say you're Farmer. Say Romo goes down with a preseason injury, Weeden sucks two bags of dicks in his stead, and Hanie continues to be Hanie. Say Jerry approaches you for a trade.

Would you trade Johnny Manziel to the Cowboys? If so, what would you trade him for?

For me, the bargain basement price I would take would be two first round picks ('15 and '16). This would give us three first round picks in '15 and two in '16. With Jameis Winston, Marcus Mariota and Brett Hundley all possibly declaring after this season, I think this would be too great of a deal to pass up.

Give Hoyer sixteen games to show what he's worth. If he flames out halfway through the season, give the ball to Shaw and see if there's a diamond in the rough.

I'm not saying tank the season, by any means. I'm saying that, in this case, there's nothing to be lost by trading Manziel.

We lose: one possible franchise QB, all the media attention in the world.

We gain: one possible franchise QB, one possible high quality starting player at another position of need, full tryout period for Hoyer/Shaw

Say we finish the season at 5-11, with the fifth pick. The Cowboys finish at 8-8, somewhere around the 11th pick. The Bills finish at 5-11, with the fourth pick. That's three picks in the top 15 in next year's draft. Would that not be worth it?

Of course, another option is to let Manziel play the year out and then trade him away as a package deal on draft day.

i'd do it in a heartbeat.

no one is proven yet. it is an extreme hypothetical and i doubt if the cowboys would do it. (although we all know jerry jones would love the added attention that manziel would bring). now the texans are a different story. o'brien and their GM like guys they can control but given the state of their offense i could see them giving in a little bit to the owner and maybe putting together something the browns might be interested in. with fitzpatrick they are dead in the water again. i like savage but he is as far from NFL ready as connor shaw.

Two 1st is too much. Maybe a 1st and a 3rd. If i was Jerry id pull the trigger on it.

No, two firsts is not enough. Whattsamattayou.....not giving your boy his due?

I want Zach Martin, next year's first and 3rd rounder, plus another player....say Terence Williams.

Obviously, this is an extremely hypothetical situation.

But an extremely interesting one... nice build.

Would I do it? Yes.

now the texans are a different story.

Nice twist... Texans would make an interesting, JM trade partner. Hello Andre' Johnson plus picks? Maybe Savage as well?

Also could be a partner, if BH was the one moved...

Nice... Considering players adds possibilities...

While asking for Martin to simply be added to your Cowboy package strikes me a getting a tad greedy, asking for him while adding Greco to our package seems as something that might not be DOA.

EDIT: Or could offer Schwartz and move either Martin or Bitonio to RT. Probably the latter...

Have I mentioned lately that I am not a Schwartz fan? ;)

You'd have a better chance of extorting from a worse team that has no QB and will have a tough time not being the worst team in the NFL this coming season-Houston!

But Cleveland stays on the map and makes tons of $$ off JF just being on the roster as QB in training hehind Hoyer. You don't throw away a gold mine that takes little $ to keep producing for you.

PS-but I might consider if they take USFBrown with Manziel in the trade. LOL!

Houston will have a winning season. Too good of a core to shit the bed again. Last season was a freak year for them

If Brian Cushing stays healthy, I could see 8-8. But that's their ceiling IMO. I see a 3 to 5 win team.

Cushing just brings a certain thing to the team that's irreplaceable. The texans are a bunch of shirt Tuckers; they need his mean streak. Night and day team the last 2 years after he went down.

Andre isn't happy, and he's been considered the classiest athlete in Houston history (next to biggio), something has to be wrong IMO. That core got blown up.

The texans are such a boring franchise but I was impressed with their draft. I think the goal is to attract a veteran qb In the next couple of years. Maybe Eli manning? And win with the best defense in the league.

I'll take some of that...

I tried to watch my recording of their preseason opener and it was so painful that I barely made it thru the 1st QTR.

No way they'd deal JJ Watt...

Is there?

Maybe after he makes a Pro Bowl, lol. But Martin has been the real deal so far. Williams is going to have a big year.

That is why I want them. You wanna make the deal, you gots to pony up.

You wanna make that deal or not?

On a side note, Cowboys are stocked at WR, if i were the Browns i would keep an eye on any WRs the Cowboys cut. There are two kids, Byrd and Boyd who i think have alot of potential. Dallas might try to sneak them onto the practice squad. Harris might be expendable this year.

why does everyone think Marcus Mariota or Raepist Winston is such hot shit?

WSS

Mariota has never blown me away personally. Whenever he plays a good defense he crumbles (see Stanford) and he holds on to the ball far too long but he does have the intangibles you like.

Winston is Luck/Manning/Elway RARITY of a talent. Maybe better than all of them by account of his freshman year.

However, Jameis off the field is a different story.
