THE BROWNS BOARD

Falcons hire Kyle Shanahan

Well, he had "mobile" QBs with Wash. in RGIII......and he had Hoyer and JMZ here.

How about this question: Why was Shanahan not able to ever get Brian Hoyer out of his late season funk after Hoyer being so good to begin with?

Was it all Hoyer.....or all the loss of Kevin Mack.....and why could not the coach adjust to the loss of Mack?

He will now have a pure pocket passer......can he adapt to that style?

He did adjust to the loss of Mack. Kinda. McDonald took a couple games to get used to the position and he was out. Seymour was working at Burger King or something. If I'm not mistaken. And Brian Hoyer wasn't particularly great ever. He didn't shit his pants when we had a hell of a running game. He was still unable to perform at an NFL level against the Colts when the defense gave him everything they could. None of that makes any difference. The quarterback matters, yes, but it's not everything. Fuck Shanahan and fuck the Falcons.

Kevin Mack? :)

ATL had a window to talk to Quinn last night? Must have him locked up and his blessing if Shanny's announced already.

I'll wager Atlanta wins division and Matt ice has career year.

And I'll wager that shanny finds a way to run a play that gets another QB hurt. He's better at that than anything else other than mirror watching.

And JM will text him during a game telling him that it's nice to have a QB friendly OC for a change that doesn't hang him out to dry on an unsupported QB sweep around left end.

mangini promoted to DC in niner land. one step closer to being a HC again.

Good to see... SF's new HC looks passionate; good contrast with Mangini.

HA!

maybe mangini is passionate in a way that he doesn't show.

note: bill belichick. his mentor. that coaching tree really sucks, from parcells down.

I've no doubt that a fire burns inside Mangini, but it is hard to see...

Mangina has an ego bigger than Lake Erie.. He's a control freak and a douche nozzle on top.. He does nothing but alienate people around him..

Have you guys ever considered the roll call of coaches and FO personnel that have either been fired, or quit on the Browns?

Ever consider the meaning of insanity?

Ever consider someone would rather be an offensive line coach than be your head coach?

Ha!....I just read an article in Atlanta that went on and on about how Shanny made RGIII great, only to have him fail as soon as he left.....then it went on to say how Shanny made Hoyer great, after 6 years of riding the bench.....They are very excited that he will now turn Ryan into Brady

We should have made Shanny buy his way out of his contract. If not that, knowing he had something lined up we should have traded his ass. If neither of those worked then sit him under contract on the couch and hire an assistant OC to really do the job (lol ala the Cowboys). He is a quitter asshole and I wish him nothing but the worst. I would pay quite a bit of money to watch him and Josh Gordon in a cage match right now.

I dont think he had anything lined up and...honestly.... think the Browns were contemplating firing Shanny and he sensed it....

Then, suddenly, a leak about the texts and such(and you KNOW where that came from)....then "regrets" about how it got presented to the public...oops....

Then a quiet agreement for him to leave......

So, I think the Browns saw his little "text gate" as a simple opportunity to basically get rid of him....and his contract....

And it worked.....

Of course, well never know....but it seems and feels very plausible....

Plausible is the word...

But a "lined up" element does also seem plausible in a very general sense. Ample reports that Shanny was treading water until Dan Quinn landed an HC job.
