State Trooper in trouble with liberal gov for calling ICE over convicted illegal

I don't understand. Why go after the trooper? I'm sure that he was following policy and procedure. That's how my agency deals with known illegals. We don't go outside of checking our databases for such information but when we find it, we place a hold for ICE at the jail.
